  • Comfortable and roomy

"We really enjoyed our stay here. We had to do a little work the first day to sort out things like the igniter on the BBQ (needed a new battery), the vacuum cleaner (totally plugged up) the pool table (suffering from neglect and poor cleaning) but after the humps were crossed this was the perfect place for us. Lots of beds, awesome retreat from the hustle and bustle of Penticton. Stellar jays and Canada jays were enjoying our peanuts, getting scolded by the local squirrels, really was fun. This house isn't updated but that worked for us, made us comfortable and relaxed. The owner was awesome, quick, kind and laid back. This house has quality, albeit aged, but still quality. The Dufferin pool table took a couple of hours to get back into shape (cleaning the plugged brush, cleaning the table, vacuuming the table) but was a nice addition to the home and enjoyed by all. We hiked up to the top of the mountain and got close up with some local wildlife. I was working in the Okanagan Valley and asked about stocking the fridge a day early (family coming from Alberta) and the owner Gerry invited me to do that and even stay if I wanted, thanks Gerry. We would return without hesitation and if you are looking for a summer getaway from the valley then this is the place, cool at night, wonderfully quiet and a great roomy comfortable house. The drive to town took about 25 minutes which was fine considering the cost of accomodation in Penticton. Thanks again for a great stay."

  • Lovely.

"GREAT place to stay. Very comfortable and clean; gorgeous daytime and nighttime views over the lake; quick drive or walk to the beach; close to fruit stand and food; lovely and quiet at night (except for neighbour's dog, who barks between 9 and 10 at night for some reason). BONUS! Bakery literally at the foot of the driveway with breads, cookies, pies, salsas. Only one thing to note: could benefit from a range extender for their wifi; if you're coming here and need to work a bit, be advised, the internet is 4/10. However, it's pretty peaceful. Bring books because it's the perfect place to kick back and read in the sun. Otherwise, really excellent accommodations in a great location. Worked well for six adults, given the two separate/private spaces. 30 minutes to DT Kelowna or DT Vernon - but you won't want to go far."

  • Absolutely incredible home. Thank you!

"We recently enjoyed a wonderful, 4 day family ski trip at Silverstar Resort and walking into this house our first afternoon there was an awesome start and definitely helped make the trip so enjoyable. The home is spacious, well equipped and very well kept. Our group of 12 consisted of grand parents, parents and kids and yet we never felt over crowded. The upper level (living room, kitchen and dining area) was very open and a great space for family meals and visiting. The lower level living room allowed the kids an escape area and great access to the hot tub (maintained daily for added convenience and service). The bedrooms are very big, with comfortable beds and provided everyone with lots of space for their personal stuff. Good ski in / ski out, short walk to tube town and skating rink and short drive or walk to village (or shuttle service which was very reliable). The owner was fantastic to deal with and my family is already looking forward to next year's trip. Highly recommend this home for larger groups."

  • Fresh Pow-WOW!

"I recently visited The Gallo's place up at Big White. It was incredible. We were a large group (10) so initially I was a bit concerned that we would be on top of one another. This wasn't the case. There was lots of room between the three floors, lots of beds and seating for everyone. The place was cozy and comfortable, even for a big crowd like ours. Location-wise it couldn't have been any better. It was far enough away from the Village for some peace and quite, but close enough that we could walk along the well-lit path to the pulse of the mountain in less than 15 minutes. The hot tub was a dream! We even had the maintenance folk pop in to check on it for us, just to make sure everything was perfect. Jo Gallo was a pleasure to book with. He responded quickly and informatively, and provided all sorts of information about the house and the utilities as well as the local amenities. It's clear that this place is Jo's paradise and he wants others to enjoy it as much as he does. We definitely did. This was one of the best trips I've been on in a loooong time."
