  • Amazing!!!

"This beach house is absolutely gorgeous! Every comfort you can think about is included. Everything inside and out is top-quality and fully-renovated. The beds are huge and super-comfortable, fully-equipped kitchen, lots of storage space in every room, spacious, great AC/heating units. The outdoor space is breathtaking. The house is right on the lake with steps leading to the water. There are two grass terraces, a long dock and two patios with lots of seating. We had a large group and everyone had lots of space to spread out. The location is spectacular: lake and hills surrounded by orchards and vineyards. We were here in June, so it was quiet (loved it). It's a beautiful area to go for a walk between the vineyards, we walked to Young & Wyse and had wine tasting there. Of course there are tones of beaches, farms (Covert Farm is great), fruit-stands and vineyards a short drive away. The owner is very accommodating and pleasant to deal with. Thank you for a great experience!!"

  • We had "the best time ever!", to quote the 9-year-old; we'd definitely recommend it to others

"We were a group of 8(3 adult,5 kid). The unit is on 3 levels, which definitely helps keep the peace w/5 kids. LOCATION:Not within the ‘village’, it is about a 10 min walk from the Sunburst/Sundance lifts & tubing. Mt Morrissey lift is very close. It is about 100m walk to the end of the complex road to access the ski trail. From here skate along the trail, under the underpass, across the bridge to the Mt Morrissey lift. Save yourself some time: this lift has a ticket window - you don’t need to walk to the village & back like I did! MASTER:Lots of windows&natural lighting, slider door looking over the back to the trail and other complex behind. A closet on either side of dresser with TV on top. Bed was reasonably comfortable, w/nice linens. We were unable to work the TV, even after switching sources, just a message ‘no inputs connected’ on the screen. I have no idea why it failed to work. The ensuite is small& serviceable -sink, toilet, tub/shower. Very limited counter space; there is a drawer under the sink and a shelf above the toilet. MAIN BATH:Similar to ensuite. 2ND BED:Has a dresser, night stands, closet. Window to the front GARAGE:We never came through the front door, and always accessed the unit via the garage, which is well set up as an equipment room: hooks for clothes,tie-offs for skis, and some shelves for boots. (at least that’s what we used all that stuff for!) 1/2BATH: as expected KITCHEN:Well-stocked with multiple pans, pots, rice cooker, crockpot, coffee maker and grinder, etc, etc. It’s all here. I personally found a slow 2-slice toaster in a place that sleeps 9 inadequate.Similarly, the kettle is small, and slow to boil. Dishwasher saw a lot of use, soap is supplied; the kitchen has small amounts of things like sugar, oil, salt&pepper. The foot switch for the built-in vacuum port (to sweep to, instead of a dustpan) is in front of the sink, so we hit it accidentally a lot. Like, all the time. It became the big joke of the trip. LIVING ROOM: Couch, two comfy arm chairs, some tables. Gas f/p, over which sits the smallest TV I’ve seen in years (19”?). Very high up, my hubby found it hurt his neck to look up to from the couch. This was the only TV that we could get to work (having said that, we were busy w/ skiing, tubing, hot tubbing, board&card games, homework, & Nintendo 3DSs, so whatever) FAM RM/KIDS’ BED: This room has the 2/1bunk, sofabed access to hot tub. LAUNDRY: W/D in good working order and soap supplied."

  • Excellent First VRBO Experience!

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the penthouse suite (on the 20th floor) during a recent short family getaway to Kelowna. The spacious three-bedroom unit comfortably accommodated 9 of us (6 adults and 3 children) -- every bedroom has its own bathroom, which is a great bonus, especially when travelling with a large group. The view of the lake from the main balcony is the epitome of Kelowna's beauty -- we certainly enjoyed a couple nights on the balcony sipping on wine from local wineries while admiring the breathtaking view. We did make good use of both the indoor and outdoor pools during our short stay. As the Sunset Waterfront is in downtown, it is only a short drive to the internationally-known Mission Hill Family Estate and other family wineries along the wine trail as well as cherry orchards on Teasdale Road. Restaurants, beach, playground and water park are within walking distance of the Sunset Waterfront. Both the kids and adults enjoyed the evening strolls along the beach. Even though our visit to Kelowna was brief, we soaked in the simple life of what Kelowna has to offer as we don't do this often at home due to our hectic lives. Since we are discerning travellers, we have typically booked all of our travel accommodations with reputable hotel chains and resorts. We had always been skeptical with booking accommodations through VRBO, Airbnb and the like due to scandals reported by the media or experienced by folks not doing the proper research (i.e. travellers showing up to a ramshackle place or the home owner did not exist). This was our first VRBO experience and we must admit that with some skepticism in the beginning, the ending turned out to be quite pleasant and amicable between us and Mike, the owner. Mike greeted us at the unit, showed us around the unit and toured the building with us. He even made sure that we had all means necessary to contact him during our stay should any issue come up -- we certainly appreciated his cordial approach. We would definitely come back and recommend this place to our friends and family. Cathy"
