  • Beautiful location, cute house and amazing owner

"We went out with a large group and really enjoyed this spot! You walk past one other house to get to the waterfront, and it's a beautiful grass park with picnic tables and a playground. We had small children so it was a perfect spot to set up blankets and play by the water all day. The beach is rocky but I think that's the case all around this lake. The house is small but accommodates a lot with five bedrooms and a massive dining table. Great fire pit area and a new deck makes it great for hanging out day and night. It's about ten minutes to drive into Invermere, which has some wonderful shops and restaurants. There is also a boat slip for this property - it's about a 15 minute walk away but was a real plus for us as a lot of homes in this area do not have moorage or slips. Mark was a pleasure to deal with - very responsive, pleasant and helpful. We accidentally lost the TV remote while there (we had a few curious toddlers who likely have hid it somewhere unfindable) and he graciously worked with Shaw to get a new one for free on our behalf."

  • The best vacation place for a family with children

"We had an totally wonderful experience at the South Garden Vacation Rental. There were 9 adults and 5 children, all under 6 for a week-long family reunion in July 2016. The house is very well designed for a large group of people, with a separate bathroom for each bedroom, and a large dining and playing area, well-stocked kitchen, outside grill, safe fenced area outside for children to play and picture perfect flower garden. There is space enough both for privacy and for joint activities on the second floor. Children enjoyed the playground in the yard with a sandbox, swings, sea-saw, croquet, badminton - all provided by our hosts. There are a lot of toys and board games for children inside the house too for different ages, so the children could be entertained in all kinds of weather. The house is surrounded by trees and spectacular flowers, pretty enough to be published in a Home and Garden magazine, it feels very secluded yet it is just a few minutes drive from the fun village of Harrison Hot Springs with a good choice of restaurants, sandy beach, shallow water for small children to swim and wade near the lagoon and a water park, boat rentals on the Harrison Lake - for older children and adults. There are amazingly beautiful views and hiking trails within short driving distance from the rental. Quite a challenging climb up a rocky hill can be accessed right from the back deck of the house. A built water-fall from the near-by rock provided peaceful background sound of falling water day and night and a joy for the eyes every time you happen to look at it. Plenty of outdoor activities both for adults and children - hiking, rock-climbing, boating, biking country roads, picking blueberries at a farm field, watching happy chickens at the Happy Chicken Farm, goats, pigs. The owners, Jacquie and John were very welcoming and gracious - the best hosts one can wish to have! They stayed in another building on the same property, and they were very easy to reach if we had a question, yet they gave us a sense of privacy, as if we were totally alone in their beautiful home. We would highly recommend this vacation place for large groups of people both with children and without. We are looking forward to our future visits at this rental property. Thank you, Jacquie and John for providing such a delightful experience for all 14 of us. Marina and Bill"

  • Perfect Escape

"We had a lovely spring break week in the cottage. The view was amazing, both from the picture window and from the hot tub. We played board games, cooked some great food in the well-equipped kitchen, and walked on the beach. Our son actually waded to a small island, but the rest of us weren't quite that brave in March. The cottage is less than 20 minutes from Sechelt, so we spent one day at the pool and another at the tennis centre in town. There was plenty to keep us busy. Our only problem was that our son fell in love with Max the dog, and now he's busily campaigning for a Max at home. I think we're going to have to book another Halfmoon Bay trip instead..."
