  • Wonderful

"Our family (we have two kids), plus two grandparents, spent some time in Steve's cabin this January (2015), and had a truly wonderful time during our stay. Our kids are very young, and they had so much fun exploring the cabin. We found the place easy (directions were clear), and it was well prepared for our visit: everything was very clean and tidy. The cabin is very inviting, cozy, and quite spacious - there was plenty of room for sleep (3 bedrooms) and hang out (downstairs and upstairs). The kitchen was very well stocked, we cooked most of our meals. Linen and towels were plentiful and clean. We were lucky to be there during a heavy snowfall, we all loved watching it, and going out with kids to play. The wood stove served us well to warm up after we came back inside. One thing we didn't have time to enjoy was the sauna. The cabin is a short drive to Whistler, we went there a couple of times during our stay, for lunch and to walk around. We didn't go skiing/snowboarding, but, the cabin is a good base for winter activities in Whistler. The cabin is located close to a railroad, but, the trains go by very infrequently (twice a day or so), and they were not annoying (on the contrary, kids liked watching them go by). Our correspondence with Steve was very clear and easy (e-mail, phone). Thanks Steve, we hope to come back and visit your cabin again! Davor and family"

  • Absolutely incredible

"First, I have to say as other have, that this place really is seven full bedrooms. The beds are really comfortable, and all the rooms are quite spacious. We counted room for 19 people to sleep! Amazing. Also, the place is very comfortable and the kitchen has everything you could possibly need (except for an ice cream scoop, we broke that... oops!). The view of the water is, of course, incredible. We had a beautiful swim and some seals came right up to us to check us out! For those travelling with kids, be aware there is a set of stairs that small kids could easily tumble down - if you have a portable baby gate, bring that. On the up side, there's a separated TV room where kids can chill away from relaxing parents. Really this place is amazing and I hope we have the opportunity to stay there again! Thank you Charisse for sharing your amazing home with us!!!"

  • This North Vancouver (Deep Cove) house worked great for our summer family vacation!

"We stayed here for a week in July 2016. The listing description accurately described the property, location, layout, and amenities. The house is not air-conditioned; we did use fans at night. There are many windows and skylights that open and allow pleasant cross breezes that kept the house cool and comfortable. The property was clean. Parking space was sufficient. House has a beautiful view out the rear to the Deep Cove harbor. Houses on both sides are very close to the property, but during our visit one was empty and the other seemed occupied only on the weekend. Hot tub is located in the yard down below the first floor rear deck. Small village of Deep Cove consists of two blocks of retail shops, casual eateries (including coffee shops and pizza), dock and kayak rentals, businesses, and one nicer restaurant. It’s a ten-minute stroll downhill from the property, with then a moderately strenuous uphill walk back up to the property. We met the owner, Paul, who happened to greet us upon arrival (he and his wife live in a separate “manager’s apartment” beneath the two-story rental property). He was gracious and friendly, giving us some instructions regarding usage and advice regarding available activities, local shopping and dining, etc. Although we did not need him, he was easily available to us onsite and provided his cell number as well. We would recommend this property subject to the following pros and cons: PROS: scenic location and views; nice house that worked well for our family of four adults, with three separate bedrooms, large TV, internet, ping pong table, laundry facilities, and outdoor deck with a gas grill. Deep Cove is a picturesque, small village in quick walking distance, with easy access to North Vancouver towns and activities. CONS: distance from downtown Vancouver (depending on location of your desired activities); upstairs en suite bathroom sink was very small, with minimal counter space; both showers are small stalls; the condition of kitchen cabinets, appliances, and bathrooms was average, but all worked well. If you are easy going and not expecting new or fancy accommodations, this place will work well for you, as it did for our family. Local activities we enjoyed: Deep Cove village (including Arm’s Reach restaurant and the locally famous Honey’s Doughnuts); Deep Cove Kayak Rentals; Quarry Rock trail and lookout; Mt. Seymour Park trails; and visits to other North Vancouver towns, seawalls, and parks."

  • Great owners, wonderful place

"We stayed here for a week at the end of July, and had a great time. The unit is clean and well cared for. We have two small kids and they loved the pool. It was nice to be a bit removed from the craziness of Whistler village, but still close enough to enjoy the fun. Very convenient to have the grocery store and liquor store right across the street. Lesley and Jack were very accommodating, and made sure to provide us with a pack and play for our little one to sleep in, and even arranged for an earlier check-in time for our convenience. Lots of wonderful nearby trails to hike and lakes to explore. We loved the Sea to Sky Gondola. It was very hot the week we were there (36 C) and the unit does not have AC, but we were ok with the ceiling fans going. It tends to really cool down overnight, so keeping the windows open overnight was key. All in all a great place."
