  • Clean and Upscale

"My kids are figure skaters, and so we rented this property for 3 weeks in August to allow them to train in Burnaby. It is the perfect place for busy travelers to rest away from the bustle of the city, but close enough to the large mall and great restaurants that you can shop and dine out easily. The beds are comfy, the space is clean and bright, the kitchen is handy and perfect for cooking simple healthy meals, and the community is lovely. We were kind of high maintenance guests - we needed to have my daughter's skating costume shipped to us, and customs levied a fee on the parcel - the owners of the home accepted the package, and paid the customs fee (we of course paid them back) which was really appreciated. When my daughter's skates were stolen out of my car in downtown Vancouver, the kindness of the owners really showed through. Kathryn even offered to loan her some figure skates of her own!! She also promptly sent me an email with ideas on places to call in case the skates were sold to local sport shops. We sadly had to cut the trip short since we were out of luck with the skates, but would not hesitate to rent this place again as our "home away from home" next time we come for training. Not only is it comfortable, but knowing that the owners are kind and thoughtful people who truly care about their guests made all the difference."

  • Wonderful for Place for Our Family

"This was a brilliant place for our family of four to stay. There was plenty of room for everyone. The beds were comfortable and having a living room separate from the sleeping area was huge boon. This is waaaaay better than staying in a hotel. What I liked: * The place was very clean. It was obvious the owners take great pride in the vacational rentals they provide. It is definitely an older model home, but the TLC Phil has given to it was evident. We were very comfortable and content here. * There was plenty of room for my whole family. With the living room being separated from the bedrooms by a kitchen and bathroom it meant we could have people playing games and visiting out in the living room while people were sleeping in back. * The location was beautiful. This place is located right in the heart of the agritourism area. This means no matter which direction you went you were surrounded by picturesque farms and pastures. Every day I'd go for a walk in a different direction and every day I was walking in beauty. Yet it's close enough to the towns of Langley and Fort Langley that you're only a few minutes drive from a nice restaurant or shopping. * The host was quite friendly. Phil was very welcoming and pleasant, yet he also gave us our space. I wound up needing to make an unexpected adjustment to our reservations and Phil was very accomodating. Things we did in the area we'd recommend: * Krause Berry Farms- We went over there one morning to eat waffles. It wasn't a traditional restaurant per se, I'm pretty sure they just serve waffles. But the waffles were so good that's the only thing I'd order if I went back... And they're close enough to walk to. * Flying Over Canada- This was in downtown Vancouver at Canada Place (so it's a bit of a drive), but man oh man was it worth it. This was so much fun I'm certain we'll do it agin... If you go I definitely recommend getting the Fast Pass tickets. They're only a few bucks more and it enabled us to skip about 60 people in line. * Castle Fun Park (Abbotsford)- These are the sorts of stops you make when you travel with a 9 year old who thinks McDonalds is fine dining. But it was actually pretty fun. It has an arcade, go karts, etc... My 17 year old enjoyed it too. If you've got kids I'm certain they'd have a good time here."

  • This is a very lovely place to stay. Easy access, cozy comfortable bed!

"We were here for a family gathering because of a sick family member. This suite was a nice retreat for our family as festivities progressed. Lots of family time. Tina and James provided lots of extras here: any condiment or supplies one would ever want, real plants, candy, treats, lots of pots, dishes etc. Comfortable beds! A home away from home. We will definitely come back here. Thanks, Tina and James"
