  • Peking House

"Hi Karen Just to let you know that we really enjoyed our stay. I took my five year old granddaughter on a tour of the grounds. She is a collector of interesting things. She brought a small bag with her. She picked a red berry from one tree, and then a multicoloured leaf from somewhere else. As we went around the circle at every corner was a “hidden treasure”. A beautiful bowl in behind something placed perfectly. She looked and said “oh look at that beautiful pot”. I explained that someone had placed that there. She said who – I told her that the lady that owned the house had done that. She looked up at me with her big brown eyes and said “she is special Bubbie” My older grandchildren loved it too. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed. We walked to town for lunch on Saturday but cooked at home on the two nights we were there. The lovely fireplace with a crackling fire was so enjoyable for all of us city folks that have the gas fireplaces. We played cards, cooked food, slept so well in the comfortable beds with the soft cosy sheets and duvets. Thank you, Sandra"

  • Wonderful Time

"We had a wonderful time at the Gibsons Premier Sunset View Location. It was a top- notch experience, one that we would happily go back to and refer family and friends to visit! The listing description regarding the location, amenities and layout were all very accurate and they provided accurate directions. The owners were great hosts, and provided us with excellent customer service. They were warm, inviting when we arrived and were available if we needed anything throughout the stay. They provided us with a letter explaining their property, surrounding areas and important details, which were very much appreciated. The owners also left a binder with suggestions to some local areas and attractions as an enhancement to our stay. The property itself was lovely and well maintained, quiet and private, which was our desire. The layout of the suite was excellent. There were separate areas in it, which lent itself to privacy within the suite such as a door that closed between the living room/kitchen area and the bedroom bathroom area. Really nice. It was also such a pleasure to sit on the private deck and have meals, coffee and a glass of wine overlooking the hill, and also be able to watch outside from the bedroom window. The inside furnishings were clean, contemporary and beautiful. The owners provided for and anticipated every possible need in the bedroom, bathroom, living room and complete kitchen areas, providing extra bedding, a fan and even a picnic backpack should we have wanted it. They thoughtfully left us with milk and coffee and tea. The owners had a fantastic eye for interior design, in both detail and style, creating a serene and classic environment. Every furnishing, finishing and style design said peaceful, pretty and quality. We definitely appreciate all that went into providing and maintaining such a delightful property and experience for us. The surrounding town and vicinity were also great. When asked, the owner gave us a few restaurant recommendations, which we used and had great experiences at each of these eateries also. We had a delightful time in Gibsons, and look forward to the next visit! Sincerely, Aileen and Aaron O."

  • Beautiful Home in a Fantastic Location

"We are a family of 4 with two boys, ages 11 and 13. We've spent many years coming to the Sunshine Coast, but this is the first time we've stayed in Halfmoon Bay. The location of Janey and John's house is perfect, centrally located for visiting other areas such as Sakinaw and Ruby Lake as well as Porpoise Bay and Roberts Creek. It is near Sechelt, which is convenient for groceries, stores, restaurants and coffee shops. Sargeant Bay, right at our doorstep, was so peaceful and calm in the mornings and bathed in sunshine for most of the day. The house afforded us lots of privacy from neighbours and space so when we had two additional guests stay with us, making 6 people in total, it didn't feel cramped at all. It has all the amenities a family would need, is tastefully decorated and clean. We enjoyed having our coffee on the deck in the mornings and watching the activity on the water sitting in the perfectly situated Stressless chairs. Janey and John were very welcoming hosts, taking us through the house and showing us where extra linens and supplies were. Our week was extremely peaceful and we were sad to leave."

  • Wonderful Stay

"My husband and I and our two dogs had a great stay at this property. We had all the comforts you could possibly want and many extra's. Thanks for all the special extra's Judy especially the chocolate treats for me and the doggy treats for my pups. You even thought of providing dog bowls, doggy bags and a little outdoor waste basket which is tremendous help. My husband and I were able to cook our Thanksgiving turkey as planned and it was perfect. You had all the kitchen items we needed.( Sorry we could not leave you some leftovers as we had to pack them up for my elderly Aunt & Uncle in Chilliwack) The location and view was terrific just like you mentioned and we hope to be able to return very soon. :)"
