  • Wonderful stay

"Ray and Catherine are very gracious hosts. We've just returned from our third week-long stay at the cottage. It was fantastic, as usual, and very rejuvenating. Our grandsons swam out to the raft several times a day, and had a wonderful time. Beach fires, making s'mores, watching fantastic sunsets and the Perseides Meteor shower, seals and otters and eagles oh my! The cottage is very clean, comfortable, and well maintained; new appliances! A few cosmetic touches needed, such as new wallpaper or paint, more ambient lighting. Other than that, perfect, and we look forward to returning next year for twice as long!"

  • Chillin' in Se a Star

"A beautiful location and an amazingly chilled experience. The Cottage was extremely comfortable and the attention to detail made it Even more so. The deck in the evening with the glass effect fire pit made our stay really special. Marilyn and Ron made us feel really welcome and the information pack was extremely useful in finding our way around, and Marilyn went the extra mile in introducing us to our favourite eatery at Laverne's in Garden Bay. Overall a really memorable stay."

  • Very Happy

"We just spent 4 days in this home and we were very happy. Mike was excellent to work with. He gets back to you quickly and was patient with me when work distracted me from getting him some paperwork. It was one of the most enjoyable holidays we've had in a long time. Things to know. -The home isn't overly large but has 3 distinct bedrooms as well as a big loft. 2 of the bedrooms are smallish but quite functional. The 3rd bedroom is quite large. It is an open loft on top of some steep stairs. There is also a loft at the top of a removable ladder that is perfect for kids old enough to climb a 10 foot ladder. Our youngest was 8 and it took her a couple minutes to get over her fear. I think the kids liked the idea of having their own private room where adults were not likely to visit. -The kitchen is big and wide open. It had everything that we needed. -The outside area is really large and the kids fished off the dock for hours. You can see the fish come right up to your hook. (Not a good location for crabs and we had no luck off the dock.) -There is no garbage service and you need to take garbage with you. Mike has some suggestions on where to take it. -There are a few smaller stores but you will want to bring groceries from home or on your way through Sechelt. -It is a great location to hike to the Skookumchuk Narrows. My wife and I ran to Skookumchuk Narrows directly from the house. It was almost exactly 1 hour round trip and we are In mediocre shape. You can consider driving to the trail head as opposed to starting right at the house. -If you can arrange a trip to Princess Louisa Inlet it is well worth it. -There is no cell coverage and the wifi coverage is inconsistent. It seemed like the wifi worked ok when only 1 device was connected and it was a time of day when neighbours might not be using the same bandwidth. You will be happiest if you just put away the devices although I know it's easier said then done. They have a home phone and it works well. Just remember you won't be able to call anyone from your party in the Egmont area on their cell phone even if you use the home phone. I would highly recommend this place to anyone unless you absolutely need to be connected to the Internet for work."

  • Fabulous

"We had a wonderful 4 nights at this beautiful, peaceful, comfortable and quiet home on Bowen Island. Chanelle met us when we got there and showed us the house. We'd stopped at a grocery store on the mainland, but the Ruddy Potatoe had a great selection of fresh foods. We thought we'd go back and forth to Vancouver but once we arrived we never felt the need to leave the island. Hiking, eating at the local restaurants, and relaxing at home was the vacation we were looking for. We lucked out and had great weather. We spent a lot of time sitting on the deck, keeping an eye on the family of river otters and seals in the cove. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the bed was very comfortable. The hot tub at night was beyond perfect. No, we didn't want to leave!"
