  • Unbelievable beauty at your doorstep

"The Blue Orca is one of the most wonderful places I can think of to stay. The view from your suite will take your breath away. Words cannot describe the beauty of the landscape at your doorstep. Whether you go to hike, kayak, or for a music festival there's nothing finer than returning to the Blue Orca at the end of the day and relaxing on the patio and soaking in the scenery. The suite is so well appointed you'll feel like it's your home away from home. None of the finer touches are lacking. Kent and Krista are the perfect hosts and provide a wealth of written material in the suite on the Sunshine Coast so there is no reason not to explore this wonderful countryside. We love it there so much that we go back annually. My advice is to go, stay and soak up the views."

  • Beautiful view!!

"The tastefully furnished cottage was beyond our expectations. We enjoyed sipping wine on the deck or curling up in front of the cozy fire. The furnished breakfast supplies were greatly appreciated. The hosts were friendly and very helpful. We loved every minute of our stay."

  • Very Happy

"We just spent 4 days in this home and we were very happy. Mike was excellent to work with. He gets back to you quickly and was patient with me when work distracted me from getting him some paperwork. It was one of the most enjoyable holidays we've had in a long time. Things to know. -The home isn't overly large but has 3 distinct bedrooms as well as a big loft. 2 of the bedrooms are smallish but quite functional. The 3rd bedroom is quite large. It is an open loft on top of some steep stairs. There is also a loft at the top of a removable ladder that is perfect for kids old enough to climb a 10 foot ladder. Our youngest was 8 and it took her a couple minutes to get over her fear. I think the kids liked the idea of having their own private room where adults were not likely to visit. -The kitchen is big and wide open. It had everything that we needed. -The outside area is really large and the kids fished off the dock for hours. You can see the fish come right up to your hook. (Not a good location for crabs and we had no luck off the dock.) -There is no garbage service and you need to take garbage with you. Mike has some suggestions on where to take it. -There are a few smaller stores but you will want to bring groceries from home or on your way through Sechelt. -It is a great location to hike to the Skookumchuk Narrows. My wife and I ran to Skookumchuk Narrows directly from the house. It was almost exactly 1 hour round trip and we are In mediocre shape. You can consider driving to the trail head as opposed to starting right at the house. -If you can arrange a trip to Princess Louisa Inlet it is well worth it. -There is no cell coverage and the wifi coverage is inconsistent. It seemed like the wifi worked ok when only 1 device was connected and it was a time of day when neighbours might not be using the same bandwidth. You will be happiest if you just put away the devices although I know it's easier said then done. They have a home phone and it works well. Just remember you won't be able to call anyone from your party in the Egmont area on their cell phone even if you use the home phone. I would highly recommend this place to anyone unless you absolutely need to be connected to the Internet for work."

  • Good For The Soul

"My wife and I stayed at Brook’s Nook for 7 nights in June. What a treat. The home is beautifully furnished, the ocean views are stunning and birds and other wildlife are ever present. We couldn’t have asked for more. What we especially appreciated was the opportunity each day to decide what we were in the mood for. Sometimes we just sat on the deck taking in the quietness, reading or watching all manner of boats slipping into and out of the marina in the distance. Other times we went for hikes to viewpoints or for drives along the ocean or around some of the many lakes in the area. Whatever we were looking for, we found. By the end of our stay we felt recharged and grateful for a most relaxing and satisfying vacation. We'll be back."
