  • Perfect

"This is a very special property, gorgeous down to every detail and more beautiful than the photos can explain. It is perfect for a couple or small family for any kind of getaway. Heather and Bob are gracious hosts who are there to support you and respect your privacy and the local reference book they provide is the most extensive i've ever seen at a rental. Their whole property shows evidence of meticulous thought and preparation, and we spent a wonderful, relaxing time here in mid-November. The location gives easy access to daytime adventures and supply runs, and the house is so nice you won't want to leave, ever. The well-appointed kitchen is great if you like cooking as we do, and the day bed in the main room gives you no excuses not to relax. The surrounding forest is gorgeous and visible from every angle and you can weather even the wettest storm in style, at one with your surroundings."

  • Good For The Soul

"My wife and I stayed at Brook’s Nook for 7 nights in June. What a treat. The home is beautifully furnished, the ocean views are stunning and birds and other wildlife are ever present. We couldn’t have asked for more. What we especially appreciated was the opportunity each day to decide what we were in the mood for. Sometimes we just sat on the deck taking in the quietness, reading or watching all manner of boats slipping into and out of the marina in the distance. Other times we went for hikes to viewpoints or for drives along the ocean or around some of the many lakes in the area. Whatever we were looking for, we found. By the end of our stay we felt recharged and grateful for a most relaxing and satisfying vacation. We'll be back."

  • Wonderful

"Our family (we have two kids), plus two grandparents, spent some time in Steve's cabin this January (2015), and had a truly wonderful time during our stay. Our kids are very young, and they had so much fun exploring the cabin. We found the place easy (directions were clear), and it was well prepared for our visit: everything was very clean and tidy. The cabin is very inviting, cozy, and quite spacious - there was plenty of room for sleep (3 bedrooms) and hang out (downstairs and upstairs). The kitchen was very well stocked, we cooked most of our meals. Linen and towels were plentiful and clean. We were lucky to be there during a heavy snowfall, we all loved watching it, and going out with kids to play. The wood stove served us well to warm up after we came back inside. One thing we didn't have time to enjoy was the sauna. The cabin is a short drive to Whistler, we went there a couple of times during our stay, for lunch and to walk around. We didn't go skiing/snowboarding, but, the cabin is a good base for winter activities in Whistler. The cabin is located close to a railroad, but, the trains go by very infrequently (twice a day or so), and they were not annoying (on the contrary, kids liked watching them go by). Our correspondence with Steve was very clear and easy (e-mail, phone). Thanks Steve, we hope to come back and visit your cabin again! Davor and family"

  • Very Happy

"We just spent 4 days in this home and we were very happy. Mike was excellent to work with. He gets back to you quickly and was patient with me when work distracted me from getting him some paperwork. It was one of the most enjoyable holidays we've had in a long time. Things to know. -The home isn't overly large but has 3 distinct bedrooms as well as a big loft. 2 of the bedrooms are smallish but quite functional. The 3rd bedroom is quite large. It is an open loft on top of some steep stairs. There is also a loft at the top of a removable ladder that is perfect for kids old enough to climb a 10 foot ladder. Our youngest was 8 and it took her a couple minutes to get over her fear. I think the kids liked the idea of having their own private room where adults were not likely to visit. -The kitchen is big and wide open. It had everything that we needed. -The outside area is really large and the kids fished off the dock for hours. You can see the fish come right up to your hook. (Not a good location for crabs and we had no luck off the dock.) -There is no garbage service and you need to take garbage with you. Mike has some suggestions on where to take it. -There are a few smaller stores but you will want to bring groceries from home or on your way through Sechelt. -It is a great location to hike to the Skookumchuk Narrows. My wife and I ran to Skookumchuk Narrows directly from the house. It was almost exactly 1 hour round trip and we are In mediocre shape. You can consider driving to the trail head as opposed to starting right at the house. -If you can arrange a trip to Princess Louisa Inlet it is well worth it. -There is no cell coverage and the wifi coverage is inconsistent. It seemed like the wifi worked ok when only 1 device was connected and it was a time of day when neighbours might not be using the same bandwidth. You will be happiest if you just put away the devices although I know it's easier said then done. They have a home phone and it works well. Just remember you won't be able to call anyone from your party in the Egmont area on their cell phone even if you use the home phone. I would highly recommend this place to anyone unless you absolutely need to be connected to the Internet for work."
