  • Good for the Soul

"In all honesty, this review is a more 4.5 but in the absence of half star options rounding up was more accurate than rounding down. I stayed for 3 nights. Alan ensured that all the information I needed to access the space and enjoy my stay was provided in advance. The space was clean and accurately depicted from the photos. Plenty of linens, towels and kitchen appliances. My favorite part was, of course, the location. I loved the ability to come and go easily and access all the destinations of the village(s) as well as beautiful walking trails within steps of the condo entrance. In addition, as I stayed there alone, I was pleased that I felt safe coming and going. I felt the investment for the space was in line with the expectations of the off peak season *but know that parking and cleaning fees are additional. A typical VRBO practice but something I hadn't taken into account during the excitement of booking this location* The half star off simply is for a few items that might need attention to and I will email the manager/ owner directly about these things. I would mention them here if I felt like they should impact your decision but that is not the case. Lastly, as it relates to the Good for the Soul title of this review, the view from the bay window never gets old. While it doesn't face the ski mountains directly, the view of the plaza, village goers and the mountains in the distance - well, along with a glass of wine, music on the TV and the fireplace going, it was my place to soak in the awesomeness of Whistler and fill up my emotional tank. • Nice property, really close to everything in the village.

"Nice place and really convenient to groceries, drug stores and all of the activities in the village. Everything, including ski lifts are in walking distance, so a car is not really needed. The beds are great and easily accommodated 3 adults and 2 teenagers. My grand daughter thought the little nook room was great. Nice screened in porch to grill and hot tube was great on the upper floor. Gary supplied movies to watch and apple TV with Netflix, plus an xBox with games in the little nook room. In my opinion 7 would be a tight squeeze in this place, because 2 would have to sleep on the sleeper sofas in the front room, next to kitchen. Just be aware, as it says, there are a lot of stairs. You have to walk up a short flight to get into the main room, kitchen and another longer flight to get to the upper bedroom and hot tube. So, if climbing stairs is an issue for you, this is not your place. Not an issue for us, but could be for others. Also, be aware there is no cable TV. I guess you should be outside anyway. All in all, nice place with a great location."

  • Extremely pleased with the cabin and owner!

"We stayed for 2 nights at this fabulous cabin. Mike was extremely accommodating, I called him numerous times before and during our stay for some questions on the facilities and fishing, he was extremely patient and friendly when we spoke. We traveled with 8 (7 adults and a 2 yr old), the cabin was spacious and the property was quiet and private. We saw some seals and sea lions while fishing on the private docks and we had BBQ on the porch, it was very relaxing! This is our first time to Egmont and Mike have definitely made it worth while! Thanks Mike! :)"

  • Great location, clean and well equipped

"My family enjoyed our stay at this condo, the location is very convenient and you can walk to most places. I did rent a car, but there are a number of days that I just walked around town including walking to English Bay for the fireworks. The condo is clean, and very well equipped in the kitchen which was important for me as I regularly cooked for my little one. Anniemarie was always responsive and I highly recommend this one room condo."
