  • Great place for groups especially families with young children!

"This is our 2nd year staying at South Garden. We had 7 adults and 7 children (all under the age of 8) staying for 3 days. We really like this place as it has 5 bedrooms and each bedroom with its own bathroom!!! The kitchen is big and sometime we had 3-4 people in it at once! There is a lot of counter space in the kitchen. There are plenty of mugs/cups and glasses as well as dishes and utensils. The dining room with extra chairs can fit 12 people around the table. There is a TV in the living room as well as a few bedrooms had a TV in it as well. There are board games and books for young children to play with There is a huge grass area in the front of the house where young children can play safely. There is a seesaw as well as a swing set. There is a fire pit with lots of chopped wood available for burning. It was really nice to sit around the fire pit roasting marshmellows. There is a hot tub that we never had time to use but it was right outside the house by a nice waterfall. There is a hike behind the house which all 14 of us went on. It is a challenging hike for the two 3 year olds which parents had to carry them at certain spots. The toddlers (5-7) needed help in some areas as well. The house is about a 5-10 minute drive into Harrison Hot Springs. We rented water bumper boats which the children loved as well. The owner, Jacquie, replies to emails quickly and answers all the questions I had. I definitely recommend this place for anyone especially for big group of friends/families travelling together. I will definitely be renting this place again!"

  • Canadian comfort

"A great place to set up home. We are a New Zealand family that stayed with a 4 month old and a 22 month old. We all loved the lake nearby and made use of the pedal boat, row boat and board (life jackets provided). Our 22 month old was most impressed by the trains, and we had plenty of warning it was coming and felt safe although it is nearby and not gated or fenced off. No trains during the night time while we were there. Cabin was cool during the day and cosy at night and the little ones slept great. Amazing place to stargaze and catch a shooting star. Kitchen had everything you would need for cooking and good BBQ too. Pity we missed the rodeo up the road, but we were busy anyway, maybe next time. All up a great place to stay."
