  • Restful and Restorative Retreat House

"I enjoyed my stay at this well care for and well maintained three bedroom home. It offered a bright and spacious area to rest and relax. A large group can enjoy each others company and still enjoy some privacy too. The quiet and inviting surroundings offered a peaceful feeling and a very tranquil view. The easy access to the water was an unexpected bonus. The large patio offered an area to enjoy some fresh air or breakfast outside or a barbecue at night. I enjoyed all the conveniences of a modern home and all of the charm of being on the water. I woke up in comfortable surroundings, really enjoyed the high ceilings and a pleasant view from big bright windows all around. I took a visit to a local bee farm and a enjoyed a delicious home-cooked meal at Harold's Hotel. A short distance away I also took in a tour at Castle Hill and learned about the history of Placentia. It is a beautiful area that has much to offer a group of friends and/or family and young people alike. I highly recommend this retreat house for a short getaway or a longer stay. I am grateful for the experience and plan to return again. Manager is super friendly and accommodating. A great experience all around!"

  • Spactacular scenery and nicely restored saltbox!

"This is place is in a spectacular location. The house is spotless, everything works, whales out the side door, salt air through the bedroom window at night. Great base camp to explore the peninsulas many scenic spots. Grates cove, Red Head cove, Bay de Verde, Dildo (snicker), Harbour Grace. Carbonear is close if you need retail stores. The host was great and always answered the phone. Directions were clear (if I was smart enough to download them before I arrived, as the cell signal there it weak at times). : ) The house was spotless and the local caretaker (sorry I forgot his name), stopped buy during the stay to check if everything was alright. This was the highlight of our 10 days on the Island. Highly recommended! Thanks for an effortless stay! Matt and Yung."

  • Beautiful property!

"I stayed here with my husband and two year old. It was very comfortable. Being that it was newly renovated it was nice and clean. It was a real heritage home with a great modern flare. My two year old called it the "funky house". It was in a great location. Walking distance to down town but also easy to drive in and out of town to tour in and around St. John''s. Lorne, the owner was very welcoming and informative. Thanks again for our wonderful stay in St. John''s."

  • Perfect Location

"We (two couples) enjoyed a beautiful view of the Narrows, the City and the Ocean. We loved the easy access to trails, the downtown district, numerous historic sites and tourist attractions, as well as the relatively short distance to Bay Bulls for an amazing ecological boat tour. Most are within walking distance. Nearby restaurants are abundant. Not one disappointed. The accommodations are new, clean, and have all the modern amenities you could want or need. This is an exceptional property and well looked after. Our trip to Newfoundland and to this cottage was one of the most pleasurable and memorable we have had. We highly recommend it. Would love to come back with our kids. The owner gave detailed instructions (and pictures!) to help with our arrival and answered any questions we had."
