  • Wonderful log cabin

"We had four wonderful sunny days staying in Woody Point. The cabin had the most amazing views and was in a perfect location for many of the hikes we enjoyed. The cabin was clean and very well equipped, lots of towels and a really great kitchen with lots of extras. Upstairs was a beautiful sunroom to enjoy the lovely vistas. The cabin was quite spacious and the beds were very comfortable. It was a short stroll to the restaurants.. We enjoyed great fish dinners at both the Loft restaurant and the Merchant. The staff at both restaurants were incredibly friendly and entertaining. The owners were very informative and helpful with directions and answered any of our questions promptly. We would return in a heart beat. Gros Morne is a must."

  • the perfect home away from home

"We very much enjoyed our stay here. The cottage was furnished very comfortably, was clean, was quiet, even with guests in the other half. The view was amazing. Owners very hospitable and helpful. It was all we could have hoped for. We felt very blessed to find this place; first visit to Newfoundland."

  • beautiful, we loved it

"This was a lovely, clean, bright, cheerful property with an incredible view. The owners have thought of everything, the location is great, restaurants and the town are close. The only down side is the drive to western pond for the boat trip, there is no ferry, or water taxi to get you to the other side of the bay except in July and August. Our suggestion would be to get back before dark, the roads curve around and can be tricky at night."

  • Beautiful house and location!

"So much has been said already in the prior reviews that mirror our experience, so I won’t repeat them. I’ll just add these comments: The “outside is inside” feel of this house is what makes this property a standout. No matter where you are in the house, there will be a vista of either Gros Morne Mountain and Bonne Bay or the mountain behind. The light filtering in – day or night – is a special experience. The location is perfect for this southern section of Gros Morne National Park. You are situated perfectly for exploration of the Tablelands, Green Gardens and Trout River. Being just outside of charming Woody Point, restaurants are easily accessible and there are other pleasures including hanging out on the back porch of Galliot Studios or taking in some music in an evening. We could easily have stayed for an additional week! One of the reasons for the great views is that the house is situated up a hill. The unpaved gravel driveway is rather steep and curving. It may take a few drives uphill in low gear to get the hang of it without spinning the tires. In the information sheet for the house, you are requested (not obligated) to smooth out any sections where the tires have created any ruts. If you are an internet user while on vacation, I would suggest discussing your usage expectation with the owner in advance. The owner was responsive and reasonable in all of our communications. The property manager who lives very close by was available too for any questions and was friendly and helpful. When our luggage was delayed, the property manager suggested that it would be easier for the courier to deliver the luggage to their house which turned out to be around 10:30PM; the property manager brought the luggage right over to us – it was much appreciated."
