  • Beautiful stay with a fantastic view

"My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights on our honeymoon. This house overlooks Saint Ann's Bay, so if you like watching sunsets, then we definitely recommend staying here. Our favorite part of the house was the enclosed porch. Two of the three nights we ate out in the porch, able to enjoy the fresh air without being bothered by the bugs. The house was clean and provided everything we needed. The house is surrounded by trees, giving it a great secluded feel. The only "negative" we would say is that the house gets quite warm during the day. We stayed here at the beginning of August. The house has spectacular windows that overlook the bay, but no shades to keep out the heat of the day. There is also no air conditioning. Eventually, for the nights, we set up a few fans that were provided and left some doors open, which seemed to help. All in all, it was a great stay. We would go back in a heartbeat. Thank you so much for everything!"

  • Cape Briton island at its finest!!

"The Mighty Blue is perfectly situated just a step off the Cabot Trail. Neil's Harbour is a quaint little place filled with freindly people and outstanding views. We loved the fact that it was not touristy and an actual working fishing village. We spent some time down at the fish plant talking to 2 gentlemen that were full of advice. We bought fresh live lobster and crab right from the factory. The beach in town had a treasure of sea glass and my children loved playing in the waves. The cabin itself has a gorgeous view of the ocean and is in walking distance to all that you would need in town. It's a great location if you plan on hiking a lot of the trails through out the national park. The cabin itself was perfect for our family of 5. It had everything we needed and a couple of extra things we wanted (a lobster pot and fishing rods) Kathy provided. Kathy herself was great, full of answers and recommendations. If you want to feel like more than just a tourist this is the place to come."

  • Soul-nurturing home and location

"While the remoteness and quietness may not be for all, for aging campers who remember and crave what it's like to be immersed in a life of stars, moonrises, sunrises, and sparkling water views, almost (not quite) off grid and with lots of hiking nearby...well, Top of the World takes it up a notch and gives you all the comforts of home as well. My only warning for my age cohorts is the bedrooms are upstairs and the bathroom is downstairs. Good lighting (the owners have all the details covered), but not the easiest stairs...you have to fully wake up for them. And to the discerning city-dwelling cook...while you'll be happy with the kitchen, you may not be happy with the grocery stores (or prices) of Northern Cape Breton. Do all the grocery shopping you can before you hit the Cabot Trail. Bring a big cooler...it's a good 3 + hrs to Capstick after the last big stores. As it must be for a place this special!"

  • Perfect little cottage

"We had a wonderful experience during the Celtic Colours week in October. The cottage had everything we needed to relax and enjoy the area. Super clean, very cozy, has the feel of visiting your family at the seashore. One of the most relaxing vacations we have ever had. Really a great value, for less than the cost of a typical hotel room, we enjoyed a full kitchen, comfortable living room, two bedrooms & a bath. Large HDTV with DVD player was nice to come home to after a long day of sight-seeing. Highly recommend!"
