  • Wonderful!

"We had a wonderful girls getaway weekend here. Not golfers but we enjoyed the hiking and shops close by and loved the house so much we said said twice "let's just go back to the house". It was warm and welcoming. The check in was easy as was the booking. Perfection! Highly recommend it!"

  • Cape Breton Idyll

"My wife and I, my sister and her husband, along with our black lab vacationed here in mid-September. The home is as beautiful as pictured, comfortably furnished and fully stocked with all the basic necessities. We were able to immediately unwind after our long drive from the States. The property is private and serene yet well-situated for our week of hiking, biking and beach combing. The owner and property manager are the most responsive we have interacted with in our years of VRBO rentals. Would rent this home again in a heartbeat."

  • Great Base for Exploring the Eastern Side of Cape Breton Highlands National Park

"Sure enjoyed our 5-night stay at the spacious and clean “Hilltop Haven” cottage. We were able to do lots of things during our stay. But hiking in the National Park was our priority. We hiked Freshwater Lake Look-off, Middle Head, Mary Ann Falls, half of the Coastal Trail, part of the Mica Hill Trail, and Franey – to the top for a gorgeous panoramic view on a gorgeous sunny day! And Gorgeous were the views from the Cabot Trail and on our drive to Meat Cove. Even the blustery weather provided spectacular scenes of crashing waves at the tip of White Point. We enjoyed our stay at the cottage, which would be ideal for families (super spacious for only the 2 of us). The washer and dryer were definitely needed by us as we were on a one month vacation of Nova Scotia. Thanks for being such friendly hosts. We enjoyed our conversations with you. And a special thanks to Greg for the fish, which lasted us for two dinners – absolutely delicious! We highly recommend the “Hilltop Haven” cottage! Be sure to go for ice cream at the Lighthouse!"

  • Beachfront Bliss!

"Our family of 8 had an amazing 4 night, Fall stay at this cottage. We enjoyed walking across the street to the beach, looking out the window and watching the waves, using it as a base for the Cabot Trail, and walking into the small town of Port Hood to the Fishermen's CoOp, tavern, and grocery store. The real highlight for our family was walking to the Sports Center for a Cape Breton West Islanders game (just stop in at the center and ask if any games are scheduled) and then walking home from it on the beach. This place feels immediately like home. Access to the home and owner communication were easy! Great place! Stay here!"
