  • The little cottage on the cliff with the wonderful ocean views!

"My husband and I spent the last two weeks of October at the little cottage on the cliff, and if you are looking for a peaceful retreat then this is the place for you. We were warm and cosy even as the tail end of 'Nicole' came through. The cottage is very comfortable and has all of the essentials for your stay. Out of season it is very quiet. One thing worth remembering is to bring any groceries that you couldn't live without because it is quite a distance to any large stores. After that, sit back, relax and enjoy all of the moods of the ocean!"

  • A Week in Paradise

"My friend and I agree that the week at this cottage was our best trip ever. The cottage itself is just perfect - cheery, warm and comfortable - it took no time at all to settle in and feel at home. I love the design that allows for such great light inside and beautiful views from everywhere. The beds are comfy too. The place was in great shape when we got there and Neil provided timely information and advice before, during and after the trip. And of course the setting! The scene is constantly changing with the sun and the weather and the different birds who swim or fly by. I have been to Cape Breton dozens of times and always liked the Aspy Valley so this time we made that area our destination (we were both campers for years but like a bit more comfort now). I'm so glad we found your place and that it was even more wonderful once we got there. It was perfectly located for where we wanted to go, so much so that we often did two hikes in one day, stopping back at the cottage for lunch which eliminated the need to carry a heavy backpack on the trails. Besides spending hours just hanging out around the property enjoying nature's ever-changing display, we did a lot of hiking - White Point, Sugarloaf, South Harbour Beach, North Harbour Beach, Cabot Landing, Aspy Valley - but the highlight was Mica Hill. We had been on that trail 20+ years ago when it went to John Dee Lake, but it's a whole new trail now and we were just blown away. I did a bit of paddling on South Harbour when conditions were good, once in the little canoe but mostly in my kayak. What fun. Words cannot really convey how beautiful the whole scene is and how peaceful and happy I felt being there. What a delight to fall asleep to the sound of the surf on South Harbour Beach and the sight of the moon rising above the mountain, reflected in the water. I truly did not want to leave. Neil, I cannot thank you enough for your generosity in sharing this magical place – I hope to come back again."

  • A great place near the Cabot Trail

"We very much enjoyed our brief stay at Conrad and Lisa's rental house! They were very accommodating and it was interesting to "peek into the life" of a true fisherman. Also a short drive to Meat Cove, which is well worth the trip! If you are looking for a quiet place where you can be immersed in the local culture, i would recommend this home!"
