  • The perfect home for a Nova Scotia stay

"My wife and I recently stayed with my family in this absolutely stunning home. The home itself was impeccably maintained and offered both luxury and comfort. Paul was a most generous host and went out of his way to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The decor made you feel as though you were immersed in the Nova Scotia wilderness, while the fireplaces, furniture, and large comfortable beds made you feel as though you were staying in your own home. The huge deck and fire pit out back that overlooks the serene pond make this home a perfect retreat. The quiet of nature is a treasure to wake up to every morning. We can't wait for our next stay at this gorgeous home!"

  • Great Base for Exploring the Eastern Side of Cape Breton Highlands National Park

"Sure enjoyed our 5-night stay at the spacious and clean “Hilltop Haven” cottage. We were able to do lots of things during our stay. But hiking in the National Park was our priority. We hiked Freshwater Lake Look-off, Middle Head, Mary Ann Falls, half of the Coastal Trail, part of the Mica Hill Trail, and Franey – to the top for a gorgeous panoramic view on a gorgeous sunny day! And Gorgeous were the views from the Cabot Trail and on our drive to Meat Cove. Even the blustery weather provided spectacular scenes of crashing waves at the tip of White Point. We enjoyed our stay at the cottage, which would be ideal for families (super spacious for only the 2 of us). The washer and dryer were definitely needed by us as we were on a one month vacation of Nova Scotia. Thanks for being such friendly hosts. We enjoyed our conversations with you. And a special thanks to Greg for the fish, which lasted us for two dinners – absolutely delicious! We highly recommend the “Hilltop Haven” cottage! Be sure to go for ice cream at the Lighthouse!"

  • Cape Briton island at its finest!!

"The Mighty Blue is perfectly situated just a step off the Cabot Trail. Neil's Harbour is a quaint little place filled with freindly people and outstanding views. We loved the fact that it was not touristy and an actual working fishing village. We spent some time down at the fish plant talking to 2 gentlemen that were full of advice. We bought fresh live lobster and crab right from the factory. The beach in town had a treasure of sea glass and my children loved playing in the waves. The cabin itself has a gorgeous view of the ocean and is in walking distance to all that you would need in town. It's a great location if you plan on hiking a lot of the trails through out the national park. The cabin itself was perfect for our family of 5. It had everything we needed and a couple of extra things we wanted (a lobster pot and fishing rods) Kathy provided. Kathy herself was great, full of answers and recommendations. If you want to feel like more than just a tourist this is the place to come."

  • Lie in bed and watch the sun rise over the ocean!

"We loved our stay here. The north of Cape Breton is wild and gorgeous. The house is built on a hill with views over the ocean and Cape St. Lawrence. Great spot for Celtic Colours."
