  • "A Little Piece of Heaven" in Nova Scotia

"Where do I begin about our stay at Zanadu? As you are driving down the hill to the driveway, you are greeted by green grass, flowers and beautiful roses surrounding the cottage with a backdrop of the Northumberland Strait. Zanadu has everything you would need, from sunrise in the morning, to awesome sunsets in the evening. It is just steps away from swimming, fishing off the rocks or kayaking along the shoreline. The kitchen, bath and bedrooms are so comfortable and well equipped..Taking a morning shower in the outdoor shower with the sun peeking in,and again after our afternoon swim was so refreshing. The sunroom, where you can escape to relax with a cup of coffee and watch the activity on and in the water, is so cozy. I grew up in Antigonish and it was great to come home to see family and friends and catch up,once again. My friends were equally awed by the fantastic view and the cottage, as were my family. Paul,Heidi,Sidney and Ann made us so welcome, Paul even went out in the kayak to catch some bait fish for my grandson so he could catch bass, which Paul deep fried for us. Yummy! "Bella" had a big part in teaching my dog, "Maggie" that the waters of Nova Scotia were a wonderful place to learn how to swim. I think Maggie loved "This Little Piece of Heaven", as much as my family and I did. Thank you Paul and Heidi, we'll be back!"

  • Fantastic oceanside setting, wildlife of every possible type, supremely comfortable, perfect hosts!

"We had a really wonderful stay in The Cove House, which is superbly equipped, very comfortable and restful and yet only a few minutes from the city (around 15-20 minutes to Downtown). The house in architecturally stunning, perched on a steep slope above the waves, with a deck and huge windows giving panoramic views up and down the harbour and across to McNabs Island. We saw thrilling and varied wildlife from the deck every day, from humming birds, squirrels and chipmunks to seals, porpoises and occasional Minke whales, not forgetting every variety of sea bird including ospreys and of course Sigmund the resident guard seagull, who is really charming. All the maritime traffic in and out of Halifax is right there in front of you so, while The Cove House is a superb base for getting to know the Halifax area, you can also find yourself very happy and entertained without going out at all! Sheri and Dan are the most helpful and considerate hosts imaginable, and have encyclopedic knowledge of the local area and wildlife so they can always help if there is anything you need to know. We would love to stay here again - thank you so very much, Sheri and Dan!"

  • A getaway from it all

"I thought places like this only existed in books. A picturesque cabin surrounded by wild seashore on one side and a quaint ex-fishing village on the other? Too good to be true! It is very true though, and Morry's done a great job maintaining the place. My wife and I adored our time there, and we're already missing grilling lobster by the seashore and being lulled to sleep by the crashing waves. Do yourself a favor and stay here for a week, you won't regret it!"

  • Awesome Place To Stay

"We had a excellent say at the Eagle’s Cliff Estate. We could not have asked for any more, it was by far the best place we have ever stayed at. The view was awesome to see, and to relax to. Everything you need is there, except for the food. The pictures on the site do not do it any justice. The rooms are very big, and you cannot tell by the pictures. All the hard wood was supplied for the fireplace. The wood burning fireplace is the best I have ever used and I have used many. It was easy to control the heat from the fireplace and it worked flawlessly. I cannot say enough good things about the estate and our stay, but by far you will not be disappointed in any way with a stay here."
