  • Perfect summer spot

"We returned to the Cape Cottage this summer after missing last year's visit due to illness; it was like coming home again! The whole family (kids ages 7 and 2) loves it: the spectacular view (especially at sunset), the awesome kid-friendly Chimney Corner beach just 3 minutes away, the home-like comfort of the cottage, and the peacefulness. It is THE perfect spot to spend a Cape Breton summer vacation. We are already looking forward to next year!"

  • Lovely place, welcoming people, everything we needed!

"We booked at short notice for 9 nights, were accommodated and welcomed by Nina and everyone we came into contact with at Tall Pines. We ended up staying on for 4 more nights and could not have wished for an easier option for our needs. Hubbards has a lovely, quiet beach, we ate at the Trellis cafe which was very nice with friendly staff, the farmers market is great! We liked the fisheries museum at Lunenberg, whale watching at Tiverton, Digby, a walk along Martinique Beach in the sun, the bay at Shelburne, organic bread and fresh vegetables from Hubbards Farmers Market. Tall Pines has everything most people need and it has been lovely relaxing inside and outside at the house. Bags of space, friendly people, good value, not sure what else could be expected. Highly recommended."

  • Oceanfront cottage is more beautiful than the pictures!

"We had a wonderful stay at Jason's beautiful cottage which has so many fine architectural details inside. And the views outside to Lake Ostrea are spectacular from every window. The landscape all around is breathtaking; we saw many birds while having our coffee in the morning. We would highly recommend this cottage if you want a quiet and peaceful place to observe nature and be calmed by a sensational body of water. Jason was very friendly, responsive and helpful. There is grocery shopping and a variety store just a drive away. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals and a nice TV upstairs was great for viewing movies. This was our first visit to Nova Scotia and staying at Jason's was a perfect way to get to know the kind and friendly people and to see the unbelievable scenery."

  • A wonderful step back in time

"Our family (my husband, my two children and my parents) had a wonderful stay! The house was charming and packed full of interesting treasures as described. The bedroom situation exceeded our expectations based on the description - there were three comfortable bedrooms upstairs plus pullout couches downstairs to comfortably sleep 8+. The minor downside was there wasn't a lot of storage for our things in the bedrooms (drawers and closets packed full!). The neighbors acted as a welcoming committee and were a delightful resource for information on the house, the town and the region's history. The museum right next door was fabulous. We found plenty to do in the greater Annapolis Royal area for a week. Highly recommend!"
