  • Just what we needed!

"My adult daughter, who lives in Tennessee, and I spent seven days at the Ocean View Cottage, hosted by Carlo Weickert. Prior to our arrival Carlo furnished a large amount of info re the area, dining establishments, travel routes affording the best views, etc. So, we were somewhat ready, we thought. But once we arrived and Carlo took a lot of his time to 'brief' us on the various options, we realized that we knew only a little of what Nova Scotia offered during day trips from St. Margaret's. Each day we followed a different route and each day, other than two days dining at Lefty's, we enjoyed the cuisine offered by different restaurants recommended by Carlo...on the matter of views and natural beauty, Carlo proved correct; on the matter of dining, Carlo was even more to be complimented!! The Cottage itself was perfect for our needs and large enough that it would easily have accommodated two couples, with or without children. I marveled at the cleanliness and layout of the Cottage, as well as the fully equipped kitchen and laundry facilities. Quite easily the Cottage could readily serve as a full-time residence as is, it was so complete and so spacious! Thank you Carlo for sharing your Cottage and all the grounds, including your private dock with the 47' Bayliner (no, Carlo might have drawn the line on his generous hospitality had we wanted to take the boat out on our own!). I'd recommend that anyone looking to spend some time in Nova Scotia, and to do so with beautiful housing and great hospitality, all at a very reasonable price, contact Carlo and line up Oceanview Cottage!!!"

  • One of a kind..

"This is the most fantastic "lodge". I fully expected a guide to knock on the door and say he was there to take me moose hunting. This place is a real gem. You won't find many like this anymore. It is huge, finished with the most amazing wood work, the hand made doors alone are something to see. There must be thirty or more hand hooked rugs that are a treasure. I think made by the housekeepers grandmother. After I arrived I realized what a peaceful wonderful place this was and basically just sat and relaxed. I read two books (there are tons and many are books that I have had and read), 350 videos, records, tapes, you name it. I was to go to town to do some things with friends and instead just sat and enjoyed the peace and quiet. The kitchen is the best outfitted kitchen I've ever seen. Most places you are lucky if there is salt and pepper. There must be twenty spices for you to use, dishes galore, and a wonderful vintage kitchen table. You are close to Annapolis Royal, but be forewarned...you must just want to enjoy your "escape" and stay on the lovely property."

  • Loved every moment!!

"Everything about this condo and this town of Port Hood is amazing. The Condo sits atop a hill with a stunning view of the bay and Island. The town is a pure joy and beyond relaxing and enjoyable. Other towns are a short drive away and each one is unique in their own way. Great Food and great music. The Condo itself is done to the nine's. You don't want to leave it. You won't want to get out of bed in the morning, as they are Soooo comfortable! This was my first time at this condo and Port Hood, but I'm ready to book for next summer for Sure!!!... I have told my friends that.."You need to go to this place"...... Enjoy... It's beyond awesome!"

  • A Quiet Retreat from the World

"My wife and I had the grand pleasure of spending ten days in this small cottage overlooking the ocean. It was private but easily accessible. We spent many relaxing hours there reading and taking walks around the beautiful area. It also served as our home base as we visited nearby Peggy's Cove and other picturesque sites. The cottage is well furnished, neat and clean. It is small but offered a comfortable place for us to enjoy. We would be delighted to be able to return someday."
