  • Amenities that rival or exceed hotels.

"If you were looking to stay at a high end spa resort, well you are not going to appreciate the dated interior. But if you are getting flashbacks to the cottages that your family vacationed at long ago, you are going to get nostalgic. Nonetheless, you will find yourself busy enjoying the vast amenities of the property than putting too much of a worry about the lack of chicness in furniture, washrooms or kitchen cabinets. However to be have a balanced review, I would like to point out some things that could need some attention. The towels are plentiful, but most had a feel of a scrub sponge, I guess they have had much use over their lives and have felt the baking of the sun once too often now. And for a possible future renovation, a larger kitchen sink would be plenty helpful. When you have 4 or 5 families' worth of dishes to sort thru, a large farm sink would do the trick. And that's about it. Clear consensus, we had 5 families join in with various numbers of young children and everyone from the parents to children loved the property! The indoor pool and hot tub was stupendous, the outdoor pirate ship and sand area was marvelously entertaining and that custom dining table - no words can describe having the ability to sit down all together as a family for each meal. Less not forget the huge open yard to play baseball or soccer, a driveway to which the kids rode their bikes endlessly around, a fire pit for those must have smores, and we didn't even get around to touching the pool table or turning on the video gaming systems. The two stoves, 3 fridges, ice maker, washer and dryer, two BBQs, bug zappers, industrial size garbage bin and strong WiFi were a godsend for our sizeable group. We definitely did not feel unsettled about any lack of amenities, supplies or beds, plenty of space for the kids to rest or for parents to find a momentary quiet spot. The owner Frank was a wonderful host, giving us the run down when we got there, coming back to fix us out of a jam and answering all of countless questions. He was great to correspond with beforehand and was quick to respond. Yes modern updates would make this property even more glamorous, but it did not detract from the amazing time we spent there. At the end of the stay our 7 year old said it was the best days of his life. And since we do all this for the kids so they can experience and bond together as they grow, if that's the reaction I'm getting, well I think we made a great choice for a cottage."

  • Excellent vacation property.

"Loved this property, it is beautiful. We loved everything about it. Very spacious, the views are stunning. The furnishings are very luxurious but very comfortable. The whole condo is very well supplied, Just pack your clothes and food. We drove into Kelowna or Vernon most days to sample the wines. The road is winding but very scenic. We walked a few of the trails on the property which were just awesome. We didn't use any of the facilities at the resort. So we can't comment on them. We don't golf (I know, sorry) and some of the resort (restaurants/spa etc) had shut for the season. If you are thinking about renting this property, don't hesitate. You will not be disappointed. Bruce and Helena were very easy to deal with, prompt and helpful. We stayed here with our elderly parents. They loved it, and like us, didn't want to leave."

  • Winter wonderland!

"Returned to this lovely cottage for a family get together just before Christmas. As has been noted by others, there is an impressive supply of well-dried firewood (and kindling), and the wood stove keeps the whole house lovely and warm. Kitchen is well-equipped, and open living room very comfortable for reading, talking, and enjoying a glass of wine by the fire and looking out over the lake. There was fresh snow, and we skied (x-country) every day we were there: on the lake itself, on the nearby Stake Lake trails (40 km of well groomed trails), and the Stake Lake dog trails were only 5 mins away). Our furry family members were in heaven! A great time was had by all, and thanks to Susan for making everything completely easy."

  • Perfect for a Couple's Getaway

"We truly enjoyed our long weekend away in Victoria in this adorable loft in its fabulous, central location. We experienced professional check in and check out. The bed was comfortable and the apartment immaculate. The building has an amazing rooftop deck that you should definitely check out at sunset and for morning tea. We do recommend guests bring earplugs, especially for a weekend stay. It's lovely to sleep with the windows open, but the bar scene is within earshot. We appreciated the complimentary parking pass, the central location, the great view and the totally comfortable stay. Victoria is definitely a city with something for everyone, and this loft was a great home base!"
