  • All that and a bag of chips!

"6 long time friends rendez-voused for our 20 year reunion. This place was perfect. lots of space including the open floor plan and deck to hang out together, separate area downstairs, lots of outdoor space and waves to wash away hangovers. It was a bit of a drive (20 minutes) into town but it was no big deal. All of us are thinking about bringing our families back in the future. Our weather was perfect but even with rain the place is big enough that you wouldn't have to worry about cabin fever. Debbie was very easy to deal with gave great directions, instructions, etc."

  • Ocean Retreat in Blind Bay

"We are 4 seniors in relatively good shape and we were looking for a quiet home on the ocean...we found it here at Bill's place in Blind Bay. We also wanted a home relatively close enough to attractions and places to hike and explore...that, too, was found here at Bill's place in Blind Bay. We went to the Bay of Fundy to experience the low tides and Lucketts Winery and to Halifax twice to visit the Citadel , tour the city with the Harbour Hopper, and eat at several wonderful restaurants on the Harbour Walk ...Bicycle Thief was a favorite. We loved coming back to Bill's home after our days of adventure. A suggestion for the home would be to have TV cable or satellite as we did miss the AM and evening news as well as being able to watch some shows together in the evenings after our days' adventures. The one disappointment was that we were unable to kayak due to the fog and wind conditions. We never cooked in the house as there are too many restaurants to try in the area toward Peggy's Cove, Indian Harbour, and Halifax. The house is equipped with most all you would need , has an awesome deck with 4 chairs ( a table would be nice), and the water views are beautiful. A special treat was meeting Bill who had fresh flowers, chocolates, and a bottle of wine waiting for our arrival. That made us feel pretty special."

  • Highly Recommended!

"We stayed at the Mainsail Cottage for 3 nights in August and we absolutely loved it! The suite is just like a family cottage complete with pictures and memorabilia on the walls and shelving. It was very clean and had a warm and comfortable feel about it. The view is spectacular as it is right on the waterfront. The kitchen is fully equipped with a variety of small appliances and the bed was comfortable. Donnie & Carol are a fabulous couple, genuinely nice and friendly. We would like to go back and stay longer!"

  • Elegant Condo - well-named !

"We loved Pauline Elizabeth's beautiful apartment, overlooking Halifax Common and the Citadel. It was spacious, beautifully appointed, spotlessly clean and we loved the views and the sense of green open spaces in the midst of a small city. It's perfectly situated for exploring Halifax which is so easy to get around. You could even walk downtown and back if you wanted and didn't mind climbing a hill or two. Shops are not far away and really we had everything we needed. We appreciated that some bits and pieces of food were in the cupboards when we arrived, salt, sugar etc, so we could make a cup of tea, and we just loved the colourful Harvest Wreath on the front door welcoming us to Halifax and Elegant Condo. We also slept like logs every night in the ever-so-comfortable beds Thank you Pauline for all the wee touches which we truly appreciated and for responding so readily to our queries both before we travelled and when we got there. We'd happily ask to use your condo again and we'd recommend it to anyone who would like to get to know Halifax and Nova Scotia. We're completely hooked now on NS and will be back to explore more.
