  • Brand New Vacation Rental In A Great Cape Breton Location On A Quiet River

"Great House! We really enjoyed this vacation rental. It comes with a shed with great views of the Salmon and Mira Rivers. It also includes a fire pit with etchings such as "Mira Bradan", Cape Breton Island, eagles, and a salmon. Two full bunk beds for kids, as well as two bedrooms with queen beds for older kids and adults. Kayaks are probably the best part -- they have a whole fleet! They include two kids kayaks, two adult kayaks and one double kayak, as well as life jackets, three large paddles and two small paddles for the kids. The Salmon River is full of wildlife -- we saw loons, eagles, owls, and beavers almost every night. It has a full wrap around deck with a grill and recliner chairs. Also included is an outdoor Game Center including ladderball, ring toss, and horseshoe toss. Downstairs is a sunshine basement with a suite, a living room, and a bar. The only disadvantage is that it is disconnected from the main level. Right across the water is Two Rivers Wildlife Park, featuring tons of trails and a Wildlife Trail with over 30 cool animals, including moose, cougars, caribou, lynx (which has a baby as of right now), a playful otter, peafowl, and an emu. Two Rivers Wildlife Park is only five minutes from the house. The town of Marion Bridge is 10 minutes from the house. Marion Bridge has a general store and gas. About half an hour away is Sydney, which has great restaurants and stores, as well as a full supermarket and a Walmart. Lots of historic places are near here, including Fortress Of Louisbourg National Historic Site (a must-see), Historic Sydney, and Historic Glacé Bay (which has a great miners museum and the Marconi National Historic Site). This brand new house is tucked away in the wilderness, yet less than an hour away from many popular development and historic sites. We had a great time staying here -- we were the second ones! Don't hesitate to book Mira Bradan Waterfront Retreat!"

  • Beachfront Bliss!

"Our family of 8 had an amazing 4 night, Fall stay at this cottage. We enjoyed walking across the street to the beach, looking out the window and watching the waves, using it as a base for the Cabot Trail, and walking into the small town of Port Hood to the Fishermen's CoOp, tavern, and grocery store. The real highlight for our family was walking to the Sports Center for a Cape Breton West Islanders game (just stop in at the center and ask if any games are scheduled) and then walking home from it on the beach. This place feels immediately like home. Access to the home and owner communication were easy! Great place! Stay here!"
