  • Peaceful, beautiful, serene & scenic

"Kelli was wonderful to work with she was always prompt and helpful with her replies. She welcomed us with a lovely bottle of Nova Scotia wine , fresh flowers and golf balls from Digby Pines a fun course to play! The cottage is even more beautiful than the photos. The division of living space is well thought out. The main floor bedroom & bathroom were perfect for the older couple we travelled with. We took the downstairs with a sitting area and great views of the Bay in the bedroom, the bathroom is down the hall way across from the very nice 3rd bedroom. A private patio with a walk out was a bonus. The upper spacious deck was perfect for so many activities I really enjoyed my Tai Chi practice outdoors using these two spaces overlooking the gorgeous Bay. The kitchen was easy to work in with lots of counter space well knitted out and we prepared fabulous meals here! We never used the BBQ for some reason. We took Kelli's advice and enjoyed fresh sea food from the fish shop it was amazing. The cottage was everything it said and we enjoyed every moment . A 5 minute drive brings you to Point Prim lighthouse it was a favourite outing many times taking in sunsets, storms, high tides and low tides. Stores are a 10 minute drive away so convenient. Bear River Tidal stilt village was a fun half day trip we also went up to Church Point and saw the largest Wooden Church in Canada now a museum.Lunenburg, Mahone Bay and Peggy's Cove were a full day trip. Digby is a cute little town we strolled the Main Street and harbour. We walked down a steep road near the cottage to access the rocky beach and here we saw a Eagle with its young, the eagle swooped by the cottage regularly something beautiful to see! This rental exceeded our expectations it was absolutely a joy to be here we highly recommend it to anyone looking to stay in Digby. We left on the Ferry just down the hill from the cottage it was a perfect way to head home."

  • Wonderful "Home" To Spend Vacation In

"My wife, daughter as well as our 2 boxer dogs spent 2 wonderful weeks at this lovely property. It is decorated beautifully with many many amenities (laundry, dishwasher, cable TV, AC, BBQ etc.). The view of the Northumberland Straight from the second floor deck was amazing. Being centrally located for day trips to PEI, Cape Breton Island and Peggy's Cove was key for us. We were welcomed by Rod & Kay with a nice bottle of wine and our Provincial flag flying from the deck. We highly recommend this property to any one looking to visit the east coast. Oh yeah - the rental rates were very VERY reasonable."

"Very comfortable and charming accommodations that are conveniently located to city centre. Great neighbourhood to stroll around in. We particularly enjoyed the lake vistas from both inside the house and dockside. We'll definitely be back to enjoy the fall foliage."

  • Best place we stayed on extensive NS trip

"Wow! What a terrific gem this is! We just got back from a 2 week NS trip staying somewhere different every evening. This was the best place in a long list of great stays we had. The owners could not have been more pleasant and thoughtful. Much attention to detail, thinking of all the little things that make a place special. I highly highly recommend Cape Breton Hideaway. Could I give it 6 stars????"
