  • Perfect condo in perfect location

"My wife and I spend the month of February in the perfect condo - the Astoria - in a perfect location in the perfect city. Weather not always perfect, but not a problem. Certainly better than Ontario home. We walked everywhere in a very walkable city. And when couldn't, used the convenient and affordable bus system. We did not want or need a car. Beacon Hill Park and the seaside are just minutes from the Astoria. Pubs, restaurants, department stores, theatres and shops of every variety are close at hand. And could never tire of the views from the condo of the B.C. Legislature lit at night, the ocean and snow capped mountains of Washington. A very successful month with great support from the folks at VictoriaPrime."

  • Very Happy

"We just spent 4 days in this home and we were very happy. Mike was excellent to work with. He gets back to you quickly and was patient with me when work distracted me from getting him some paperwork. It was one of the most enjoyable holidays we've had in a long time. Things to know. -The home isn't overly large but has 3 distinct bedrooms as well as a big loft. 2 of the bedrooms are smallish but quite functional. The 3rd bedroom is quite large. It is an open loft on top of some steep stairs. There is also a loft at the top of a removable ladder that is perfect for kids old enough to climb a 10 foot ladder. Our youngest was 8 and it took her a couple minutes to get over her fear. I think the kids liked the idea of having their own private room where adults were not likely to visit. -The kitchen is big and wide open. It had everything that we needed. -The outside area is really large and the kids fished off the dock for hours. You can see the fish come right up to your hook. (Not a good location for crabs and we had no luck off the dock.) -There is no garbage service and you need to take garbage with you. Mike has some suggestions on where to take it. -There are a few smaller stores but you will want to bring groceries from home or on your way through Sechelt. -It is a great location to hike to the Skookumchuk Narrows. My wife and I ran to Skookumchuk Narrows directly from the house. It was almost exactly 1 hour round trip and we are In mediocre shape. You can consider driving to the trail head as opposed to starting right at the house. -If you can arrange a trip to Princess Louisa Inlet it is well worth it. -There is no cell coverage and the wifi coverage is inconsistent. It seemed like the wifi worked ok when only 1 device was connected and it was a time of day when neighbours might not be using the same bandwidth. You will be happiest if you just put away the devices although I know it's easier said then done. They have a home phone and it works well. Just remember you won't be able to call anyone from your party in the Egmont area on their cell phone even if you use the home phone. I would highly recommend this place to anyone unless you absolutely need to be connected to the Internet for work."
