  • Beautiful Property with Unique Charm

"A group of us stayed at The Winking Rosebud and were absolutely blown away with the property. Situated on a large piece of land, the property has 4 different cottages to choose from. Brenda was beyond pleasant to deal with and always was quick to respond. The main cottage ads a unique feel with it's decor and set up. Definitely renting again and highly recommend"

  • Beautiful view, peace and quiet.

"We booked the property for 3 nights. 4 adults 2 kids. Nona was in touch via email and answered all my questions before I got here. The view of the lake is breathtaking. Although please note there is no access to the water from the property. There is also a steep cliff at the end of the backyard so keep an eye on your kids! But the view and coziness of the cottage make up for that! Nice kitchen, dishes, well equipped. Close to town, grocery store close by, the Marina/beach all 5 minutes away if you drive, 10 if you bike. Sauble beach is 35 minutes away. Tobermory is about 40 minutes. Excellent location to make daytrips to many locales. The Bruce trail is right outside and makes for a good family hike to Lionshead lookout. The firepit offers a nice place to sit back and watch the starry night, the kids had a blast roasting marshmallows and spotting shooting stars. Inside 3 bedrooms 1 and a half baths were more than enough for us. The master bedroom offers an absolutely beautiful view of the lake, awesome to wake up to. Again, I must point out though that there are no curtains or blinds in the master bedroom, not even a door. This may bother some people, but we were OK. Thankfully, the other bedrooms had doors, so we still had some privacy! Overall an excellent choice if you want to seriously unwind yourself from the daily grind. I have rented in Tobermory before and this is much more quiet and scenic to me. Nona has done a fine job maintaining this place and I would give it an A+!"

  • Quaint cottage style. Bright and cheery with a fabulous view.

"We stay in the county every summer. This was by far the best cottage experience we've had yet. The cottage has been kept quaint with minimal cottage style decor. The kitchen is reasonably well equipped. It was very clean. The space is light and bright with a fabulous view of the harbour. We spent a lot of time in the backyard for meals and for lounging in the muskoka chairs. The only extra thing that might have been nice would be the addition of a lounge chair out back. The cottage has two very comfortable beds. Upstairs was a little bit hot even with the air conditioner running in the next room but it was an unusually hot week while we were there. The main floor air conditioner was not working but the owner handled it very quickly and we had a new unit installed by the next day. They are very responsive to emails. Service is excellent. The television room is located upstairs beside the bedroom and there is no cable service. Fortunately, we came prepared for that. I imagine they didn't want to distract from the view by placing the television in main floor living room. The living room is very comfortable and tastefully decorated. The Blumen Restaurant is quite nearby (a very short drive or bike ride) and we had a lovely meal there one evening. Downtown Picton is also a very short drive or bike ride away. Miss Lily's cafe is handy for good coffee and pastries and it's open early. There was also a park just down the street which was handy for walking our dog. We had a lovely time and thoroughly enjoyed using the cottage space. We actually spent more time than expected in the backyard since it was very functional and the view overlooking the water was fabulous. We would definitely like to stay again for our next holiday."

  • Great spot

"Beautiful situation, clean, well-equipped cottage. Very comfortable beds. The kids (9 and 6) loved swimming from the dock, going for a ride in the canoe, feeding the ducks, toasting marshmallows around the fire and fishing. The only thing missing was a beach - but that might have been due to high water levels."
