"The cottage was very pleasant. The listing description of the property was very accurate. The bedrooms and bathrooms were clean. The property was overall fairly clean...(some additional attention to the Front Porch/spider webs, furniture, etc. is recommended). The yard was very well maintained..grass was freshly cut!!! Thank you! Very pleased with the Owner's customer service. I would definitely recommend the property to my friends and family. We liked and used the beach across the street very much."

  • Repeat Renters!

"This is the second time we have rented the Waverly Beach house for the last week in June. We have thoroughly enjoyed our getaways to this wonderful property. The house has plenty of space for a family of 6 to enjoy together - and plenty of space to have some time apart as well. The bedrooms are comfortable with portable air conditioning units in each one. We used both porches extensively - both are furnished with comfortable patio furniture. Some key points not to be overlooked regarding the amenities: TWO FULL baths, a washer and dryer, TWO fridges, Wi-Fi, well-equipped kitchen, all linens, and plenty space for parking. One thing that may not be apparent when looking at the property online is that this is a VERY private and quiet location. The property has a natural boundary of trees and greenery all the way to the beach. This provided a wind screen on breezy days, additional shade for those who aren't looking to bake on the beach all day, and quite a bit of kindling for bonfires. This natural screen also marks the end of the real sandy beach area in this section of the lake, so there is hardly any beach walking "through traffic". There is not much "traffic" at all really - the lake is shallow here so very few boats pass by and there seems to be very few people using the beach in general. I doubt you will find this level of privacy elsewhere along the lake. Be sure to take some side trips to Niagara Falls and Niagara-on-the-Lake while you stay here. Both are only about a 30 minute drive away. Things not to forget to bring: bug spray, laundry detergent, blow dryer, playing cards and board games, and bikes. (The Friendship Trail is easily accessed at the foot of the driveway and is a well paved scenic ride in either direction.) If you do forget anything, Walmart, Sobey's, LCBO, and The Beer Store are all close by on Garrison Road. All in all, we highly recommend this property to any renters!"

  • Amenities that rival or exceed hotels.

"If you were looking to stay at a high end spa resort, well you are not going to appreciate the dated interior. But if you are getting flashbacks to the cottages that your family vacationed at long ago, you are going to get nostalgic. Nonetheless, you will find yourself busy enjoying the vast amenities of the property than putting too much of a worry about the lack of chicness in furniture, washrooms or kitchen cabinets. However to be have a balanced review, I would like to point out some things that could need some attention. The towels are plentiful, but most had a feel of a scrub sponge, I guess they have had much use over their lives and have felt the baking of the sun once too often now. And for a possible future renovation, a larger kitchen sink would be plenty helpful. When you have 4 or 5 families' worth of dishes to sort thru, a large farm sink would do the trick. And that's about it. Clear consensus, we had 5 families join in with various numbers of young children and everyone from the parents to children loved the property! The indoor pool and hot tub was stupendous, the outdoor pirate ship and sand area was marvelously entertaining and that custom dining table - no words can describe having the ability to sit down all together as a family for each meal. Less not forget the huge open yard to play baseball or soccer, a driveway to which the kids rode their bikes endlessly around, a fire pit for those must have smores, and we didn't even get around to touching the pool table or turning on the video gaming systems. The two stoves, 3 fridges, ice maker, washer and dryer, two BBQs, bug zappers, industrial size garbage bin and strong WiFi were a godsend for our sizeable group. We definitely did not feel unsettled about any lack of amenities, supplies or beds, plenty of space for the kids to rest or for parents to find a momentary quiet spot. The owner Frank was a wonderful host, giving us the run down when we got there, coming back to fix us out of a jam and answering all of countless questions. He was great to correspond with beforehand and was quick to respond. Yes modern updates would make this property even more glamorous, but it did not detract from the amazing time we spent there. At the end of the stay our 7 year old said it was the best days of his life. And since we do all this for the kids so they can experience and bond together as they grow, if that's the reaction I'm getting, well I think we made a great choice for a cottage."
