  • Relaxing Retreat

"My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our week on High Lake. The cottage is very clean, comfortable and well-equipped. The sunset views from the deck and dock are stunning. The lake water is warm and virtually weed free. Highly recommended for those who are looking for a restful retreat in beautiful Muskoka."

  • Gorgeous property with lots of living space for a wonderful family vacation.

"Our extended family had a fabulous vacation at this beautiful property on Acton Island. There were lots of options for comfortable sleeping arrangements: 4 bedrooms in the main house, 2 bedrooms in the boathouse and of course the bunkie with a DVD player for rainy days (see ya later kids)! The large open concept kitchen/living area easily accommodated all 12 of us. There are so many places to relax; the wide wrap around deck, the large screened-in Gazebo, the sunny swimming dock or the secluded bunkie deck. No matter where you go there is one thing you can't escape...a view of the lake! Endless swimming in beautiful deep water and the kids jumping into the lake from the rope swing were highlights for us. Bala is just a short boat or car ride away for a change of scene and a delicious treat from Don's Bakery! The property owners are kind, accessible and accommodating. The only thing that was missing was a hammock! (Hint hint). We felt lucky to be able to stay here and would love to go back next summer!"

  • Could not have been more perfect!

"The property is perfect for a large group or two separate families. We were able to accommodate 21 ranging in age from 5 to 72 without feeling on top of each other. The two full cottages are comfortable and clean and well equipped with fully functioning kitchens - basic supplies are provided and lots of cooking gear (which is not always the case). Also big new bbq available. There are four other bunkies that can accommodate 2-3 each with a separate building with toilet and shower so people in the cottages aren't woken up at night. The combination of dock, beach, boat house, kayaks, canoes, volleyball court, fire pit and sauna kept everyone active. Dan and Suzanne are charming and are nearby if you need anything without being intrusive. The location is private and the wildlife abundant - loons and baby geese were the highlights. Its about a 25 minute ride to Bracebridge for supplies but Rosseau General Store with LCBO across the road does in a pinch and is 15 minutes away Rental process was straightforward and Dan actually calls and speaks to you directly about what you might need. Security deposit was returned quickly upon return home. Highly recommend this rental."
