  • Comfy beds, spacious, lots of boats!

"Tall Pines comes as advertised! My family spent just under a week at Tall Pines in late august. The beds were comfy, shower was great, and there were lots of boats to enjoy. Lee and Bruce were clear about what to expect and we would definitely return. The only drawback was the lake was filled with a lot of algae because of a warm winter & spring but we were warned of this ahead of time. We still enjoyed swimming and could paddle out a little ways for clearer waters."

  • Quiet, peaceful getaway....!

"We spent Thanksgiving long weekend at Pam's cottage and it was exactly what we were looking for - quiet, peaceful, beautiful fall colours and sunsets. We took our Newfoundland dog who also loved every minute of it. Pam was fantastic and ensured we were all set before arriving at the cottage. The cottage is spacious, clean, well-maintained and has everything you need for a relaxing getaway. And you really are on your own little island! We really needed time away from our busy schedules and unplug from everything (including the TV, internet and the hustle-bustle of city living) - this was the perfect getaway for us. Highly recommend it to anyone who wants to experience the beauty of the Kawarthas in a beautiful and relaxing setting!"

  • Beautiful Haliburton location, great classic cottage.

"Great cottage with nice amenities, views, and hospitality from host. This is a "classic" cottage with some nice extra amenities (dishwasher, dvd collection, tons of boardgames, fully equipped kitchen). This was great for our 2 year old daughter - she could have the run of the cottage without a thought to her getting into anything! Small walk downhill to the water but a nice boat house and sandy beach for her to splash in. Neighbours were relatively close by, but quiet and kept to themselves. Highly recommended!"

  • Excellent and wonderful owners. Maria & Bruce were incredible hosts!

"This property is absolutely perfect in every way. We had all the comforts needed. We could sleep our entire family comfortably without feeling like we were on top of each other. The layout works perfect. We had 2 rainy days and the inside was enough space for us all to hang out. The lake water felt warm and silky and we had easy access in and out. It was easy to have my mother with us (she has a heart condition and can not scale inclines or rough terrain). She could easily get around and in and out of the water off the dock ladder. The bunk house is absolutely gorgeous and just a treat to sleep in. I claimed that spot right away! The best parts overall: the location, dock, water, decks, loons, view and atmosphere. Worst parts: when I originally found this place online I was doing a random search. I noticed the area (of Ontario Canada), that it was part of Canada Stays, owned by Canadians and in what I thought was Canadian dollars, so I clicked to book. Somehow and not completely obvious, I managed to be on the VRBO site (affiliated with Canada Stays), so therefore, although I saw the Canadian pricing and thought that's what I clicked, I was charged in American dollars. They took quite a chunk and refused to reimburse me and book it via their Canadian site. So we paid far too much and was stuck with that. THIS IS IN NO REFLECTION OF THE COTTAGE OWNERS, as they also couldn't help or have it reversed (they tried). ALSO.....Canada Stays did not pay them their cut until 3 days after we were here and we booked this back in March. So...consider this a warning, read the fine print of Canada Stays and VRBO. They cleverly set it up to take more money from Canadians. I won't ever use them again and will stick to Airbnb from now on. If you find Cottage LaMed in your search. stay there, but don't get hosed by VRBO."
