  • Girls weekend away

"House was nicely equipped with standard kitchen supplies (utensils, cutlery, plates/bowls, glassware), soaps, toilet paper, and towels. Overall the house was clean and functional, the property was charming, and the bedrooms were very cute! Only downside was that the air circulation in the upstairs floor wasn't great, and there weren't any ceiling fans to use. Windows seem to be permanently shut (or at least very difficult to open), so we couldn't get any breeze in the rooms. Also, the wall lights didn't turn on, and there weren't any switches to turn on lights (most likely because it is an older house and this wasn't an option back then). Not necessarily a deal breaker, but in the hot heat of the summer, it would be nice to have. One neighbour was very unfriendly - this isn't an issue with the house per say, but still an unpleasant experience nonetheless. Our group (which majority was 50+ in age) was outside chatting at 8:45pm and she marched over to us saying that we were "SCREAMING" and was very rude. Meanwhile, there was a house down the road with music blasting all night."

  • Well Equipped

"My girlfriends and I stayed at Cedar Shores for a weekend in December to do some last minute Christmas shopping and visit some wineries. The house was nice and big to accommodate our group of 8. We could walk to Queen St to the shops and it was no more than a 10 minute drive to wineries. The inside of the house was warm and inviting. We sat around the fireplace most of our in house time and piled wood on the fire which we were able to get from the large wood pile. The kitchen was nice and large and the beds were most comfortable. The only regret was that we couldn't enjoy the pool because it was freezing outside."

  • Perfect location and lovely home with everything!

"we had such an amazing time, Karen was the perfect hostess-being available and explaining so many of the things Niagara has to offer. We stayed an extra day, the house was one of our favorites, and we cannot wait to visit again!"

  • Butterfly cottage review

"Butterfly cottage is a nice and beautiful cottage for a romantic getaway. The cottage is nice and clean, with a private and colourful backyard. Imaging a swing under a big pear tree, swinging in a flower shower. Wifi is a bonus, and within walking distance to the core of "Niagara on the lake". Two minutes walk to the lake, nice neighbourhood. I would definitely recommend butterfly cottage!"
