  • Paradise Found

"If you are looking for a quiet relaxing (modern) cottage to rent, this is the place to go. Off the beaten path but well worth the journey. A beautiful well presented property clean as a whistle, and tons of space but still a cozy feel to it. Close to amenities for those little items you may have forgotten, but far enough to feel as though you have found you own little piece of heaven. New dock stretching out on to a pristine lake (couldn't keep my daughter out of the water). I can honestly say that I have never experienced anything like it, so peaceful and tranquil with a gentle breeze, the sunshine, and the calling of Loons from the lake it was just a dream. There is a fire pit for the evenings and a BBQ on the patio just off the living area, but if that isn't for you there is a fully fitted kitchen on the main floor. On the lower level there is a lounge area and a bedroom, and on the top floor two bedrooms with a clean modern bathroom. My family and I were visiting from the UK and stayed at the recommendation of a friend, and it was everything we expected and more. The wide open space of the lake and the serene surroundings all I can say is if you get a chance to spend sometime at Howson's Hideaway Cottage do it, you won't regret it"

  • Great location and quiet neighborhood.

"Wonderful hosts take pride in their home. Very helpful making sure we could find our way around Toronto. Public transportation very close and many places within walking distance. We would have liked to have been able to spend an entire week, but hope we can next time."

  • Lovely spot

"I spent a week here with my parents, my husband and our 13 year old son and had a great week. The cottage is clean, in a great location and well maintained. It is very close to Parry Sound and Port Carling for awesome day trips. The rooftop of the boathouse is a great spot to spend the day complete with very comfy lounge chairs and an amazing view! The "gentle walk" to the water is a steep hike and needs to be considered if mobility is an issue. The only missing amenity was a paddle board - otherwise it has it all. We enjoyed fishing, swimming, paddle boat and ping pong. I would recommend this property."

  • A Beautiful Place with a Great Location

"Our family of five (three teens) stayed four nights in August. This was the nicest place we've ever stayed as a family, and probably the most convenient. The townhouse is beautifully decorated in modern style, with high-end appliances and a newly appointed kitchen. It was spotless when we arrived, and the owner's assistant even presented us with a plum cake from a nearby bakery. The bedrooms are all nice. The master bedroom is huge, and the bathroom on that level is like a spa - huge bathtub, walk-in shower, heated floor. One of the upstairs bedrooms has a small balcony overlooking downtown Toronto, and the rooftop patio has an even nicer view. We loved drinking coffee and reading the paper up there. Having a garage parking space was golden, but the place is convenient to the streetcars on Queen and King street, and downtown is also in walking distance. (A long walk, to be sure, but still do-able.) Our 18-year-old son walked to a concert at Echo Beach, almost directly down Strachan Avenue; it was a safe, convenient walk that probably was faster than dealing with the traffic of dropping him off down there. West Queen West, just a block to the north, is full of good restaurants and interesting shops - a very hip neighborhood. Convenient to the Art Gallery of Ontario, which we also enjoyed after a great lunch in Chinatown - streetcar there, walked back. For all the activity of Toronto, it seemed quiet and peaceful at the townhouse. We loved it. The only people for whom I would not recommend this place would be those with knee problems. With kitchen and living room on one floor, master bed and bath on the next, second and third bedrooms on the next, and rooftop deck on the next, there is a lot of stair-climbing involved if one is going to take full advantage of this beautiful townhouse."
