  • Truly a home away from home.

"We just returned from a 6 night stay at the Mermaid Condo. As others have mentioned, Maureen meets you with a smile and will give you the info on the condo and any other questions you might have. The location is second to none, we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go except Butchart Gardens. (Which the #75 bus will take you to or, if it's a Saturday, take the CVS tour late to take in the free concert & fireworks with a guaranteed late ride back home. You won't be disappointed.) The condo does get warm but if you pull down the blinds in the afternoon, open the windows & put the fan in the doorway you're golden. Someone had complained about the bed in a previous post & I'll be honest that I was a bit concerned, as I would be the one next to the wall, but the bed is very comfortable & was not an issue at all. We ate in all but one breakfast, unfortunately we didn't get to try "Jam" as there was a line all the way down the street. We did find "Nautical Nellies" to be the perfect last night dinner with good seafood & a great view. There is a market up Yates street which had everything we could want (and more) to have our own feasts at the condo after a long day of playing, while looking out at the harbor. If you cross the bridge & head to the left you'll find a wonderful walking/running path along the bay that makes for a perfect morning run (at first you'll be in front of the big resort but stick along the waterway and there is an entrance to a trail by the Spinnaker Restaurant that is wonderful). If you go across the bridge & go right you'll hit the Galloping Goose Rails to Trails bike path and can bike for hours. What an impressive bike system they have with water & bathrooms along the way. There are also a few cafes & coffee shops just off the trail. Can you tell we were busy & happy? Lastly, I have to commend the designers of this condo. We've lived in very small confines so I make note of design of such places. This condo is designed in such a way, that while it's small, it doesn't feel like it. There is so much storage with cubbies, drawers and closets that a traveler could never fill it & a single person living there would be more than comfortable. The sound proofing is great, we never heard a peep except one bang against the wall on our last evening. Overall, Maureen's Mermaid Condo is a clean, quiet, convenient, gem in the heart of a noisy tourist area that we recommend highly!!! Thank you Maureen"

  • Great location

"We just returned from staying at this condo for one week. We were travelling as a family of 3. This condo turned out to be a perfect fit for all of our vacationing needs. We were literally steps from almost everywhere we wanted to be and in a great neighbourhood. The condo was clean and had everything we needed. The front desk staff are excellent! We would stay here again if we ever find ourselves in Vancouver again!"

  • AHHHH-mazing!!!!

"Myself and a bunch of my girlfriends spent the weekend at this place and we had the absolute best time! This place had every thing that we wanted... and more! There were enough beds for our group as well as enough space in the kitchen for those kitchen-party gartherings :) We had planned out our trip ahead of time but the owner, Chris, was very helpful and knowledgeable if we did need anything recommended to us. We rented bikes from one of the downtown bike rental places, which was only a short cab ride away, and took to the KVR trail to test out some of the local wineries. Beaches, clubs, wineries and everything else that you would want to see and do around Penticton were easily accessible by cabs ($15-20 to get to the main downtown areas). We loved our stay here and look forward to returning!"

  • Excellent, beds amazingly comfortable. All the appliances and kitchen utensils we needed were there

"We were quite pleased to find everything that we needed was right there! The kitchen was excellent, very homey and welcoming. The units were clean, and well maintained. Loved the little garden outside, the lights on the patio, the whole experience was really excellent. The beach nearby was so peaceful. We really needed a restful, quiet retreat and that is what this was for us. We loved swimming in the crystal clear lake. thank you for making our stay really wonderful. Brenda"
