  • In a word - spectacular!

"When our son and daughter-in-law announced their engagement last year, our extended family went in search of a home away from home for the week before the wedding celebration on PEI. And we found it on MacMillan Point. This North shore cottage offered the comfort of beauty and easy graciousness while we enjoyed the best of this beautiful island. This home's highlights include a peaceful waterfront setting and many decks from which to appreciate it; wading and swimming right at the tiny, but welcoming beach at the property's edge; cooling ocean breezes morning and night; a well-stocked kitchen and cozy bed linens throughout; lots of room to spread out but privacy when needed in a large gathering; captivating artwork everywhere by island artists; minutes away from the seafood chowder at The Dunes and the lobster roll at Richards; and a quick drive to Charlottetown to pick up loved ones and supplies. In a word - spectacular. Thank you, Ron, for sharing."

  • Wonderful Family vacation

"The cottage is brand new with many modern conveniences. The hosts are very friendly and although there wasn't a single issue it was comforting to know there was help next door should we need anything. Everyone slept very well in the cottage. I think this was because of comfortable mattresses, solid blinds in the bedroom to block the light early in the morning and a quality air-conditioner that kept up with the particularly hot week. This made for a number of perfect beach days at Brackley beach. We were a short bike to the beach but it was also convenient to drive the car as well a short 2 minutes down the road as there was ample easy parking at the National Park. A family discovery pass was included with the cottage so we were able to easily drive in and out of the park with a friendly wave as we quickly bypassed any cars that were in line. We found a bike path that allowed us to bypass much of the road and end up on a quieter part of the beach (no pass needed for bikes). It was also fun to bike along the bike path and enjoy a fish n chips lunch at Richard's. Brackley beach is one best sandy beaches in all of eastern Canada as far as I am concerned and that combined with awesome weather made the stay very memorable. The cottage was fully equipped for anything we needed in the kitchen. We got some good advice that shopping at the grocery store in Charlottetown was the way to go to get quality fresh seafood at reasonable prices. Don't forget fresh PEI potatoes! We ate PEI mussels one night that went nicely with the bottle of wine included with the cottage. I also enjoyed barbecuing on the large four burner while enjoying some of the Gahan brewery taster pack that was also included with the cottage. It is hard to capture in a single photo the entire feel of the living space but there are windows are all around and there is a view of water which looks like a lake but is in fact part of the tides from the sea. The spruces in the distance are the edge of the National park. You can sit on the deck in the anti gravity chairs in the morning with your coffee and relax in quietness. I also enjoyed biking down to Richard's restaurant and one day picked up some scallops take home for dinner. There are many ways to make a beautiful vacation with this cottage as your home base as you explore during the day. You will not be disappointed with the cottage it was perfect for us."

  • Lovely cottage on beautiful quiet lot near everything

"My sister and I stayed here for a few days after leaving Charlottetown. We wanted a base to visit other areas of the island. This cottage was more than we expected. It has everything you need right down to a washer, dryer and even a dishwasher. A lot of love has been put into this cottage and the landscaping was beautiful. There were lots of games and books and plenty of information about the surrounding area. This cottage was decorated in a rustic theme; just what we wanted when booking a cottage. The place was so quiet and relaxing but so very near all the tourist's hot spots. Would love to be able to stay here again. Thanks Michele and Doug"
