  • Lovely - absolutely lovely!

"We found this to be the perfect place to stay for our PEI vacation for the following reasons: 1. Location - the cottage is located on a peninsula that has the ocean on one side and the bay on the other. Darnley Shores a small, well-kept cottage community with a nice waterfront area on the bay in front of the cottage. 2. The cottage - its a beautiful cottage with pretty much every amenity. The furnishings, bedding etc. are clearly of good quality. The cottage feels like more of a well-maintained vacation home than a vocational rental. We felt very much at home! 3. Beaches - we love to go for long beach walks. A couple hundred feet in front of the cottage is the bay beach. This is a red sand beach that is shallower and very safe for small children. If you walk a few minutes toward the ocean, the sand get progressively more light and you get to the grassy dunes area. We liked to swim in the bayin the area just before the channel to the ocean. The bay water is warmer and the sand here is perfect. And you can keep walking for kms around the point all the way to the Profits Point red cliff rock formations. This is a good 30-40 minute walk, but absolutely gorgeous. 4. Area attractions - it was just a short drive to many attractions like Cavendish, Anne of Green Gables locations and more. Grocery shopping is a 10 minute drive to Kensington. And there are restaurants within a short drive as well. 5. The views - the cottage has wrap-around decks with wonderful views from virtually every angle. Our favorite thing was to simply sit on the deck with a drink and enjoy the views. We had some perfect beach weather for a few days and used this time to enjoy the area beaches. When it was rainy, we drove to Charlottetown (35 mins) and did some sight-seeing. We also went deep sea fishing (New London Bay) and enjoyed that very much. It was a perfect vacation and we will definitely be back next year! Sally"

  • Peter, Doreen & Josua the dog.

"This will be the fifth year that we have rented Carnoustie, - each time for a minimum of one month, - just us two & the dog, - although we have had the odd visitors for a few days each. Delightful location with eagles, heron etc. Mostly we rent in June-July, although in 2016 we were there for five weeks in June, and back again in September, - even though we live in Chicago! A very well-equipped house, - the new owner is in the food-service business so there is an abundance of of high quality pots & pans. We cook at home a lot - great Island beef, buy lobsters off the boat at around US$5.00/lb, mussels from the processing plant at just over $1.00/lb and oysters from the oyster farm, - but there are some first class restaurants on the Island. The house now has not only kayaks & bicycles, but also wind-surf boards. The dog loves the easy access to the water. Dean, the property manager is very responsive to any & all requests, service is his motto!! I highly recommend Carnoustie Cottage, - as we are only two people it is relatively expensive for us, - but for a group of eight, - Carnoustie represents great value. A car is absolutely essential. Exercise classes are available at the Lions Club in North Rustico, - about a mile away - an easy bike ride."

  • Fantastic vacation home

"The home was exactly as presented. We were a party of 7. Two families. The kitchen was well supplied with all you need to cook and serve with. The beds were comfortable and the house spotless. The location was extremely quiet and peaceful. The garage was a bonus for our dogs to spend the day in while we were out. It was cool and had windows for a breeze. The back yard is huge with a deck and seating and BBQ. The owners of the home were awesome ,respectful and helpful. I highly recommend this as a place to stay in PEI. Thanks for providing our families with a great place to vacation !"

  • Great cottage for families

"We stayed here with two families - 4 adults and 3 kids under 3. The cottage was perfect for a stay with a toddler. There was a swing set and even some toys, movies, and books for her to play with. The hot tub was perfect for unwinding at night. The half bath in the bedroom upstairs allowed each family to have their own space. Satellite TV, bluray, and wifi means it had all the amenities we needed. The owner includes a park pass so we got free entry to Cavendish beach 5 minutes away. We would highly recommend this cottage!"
