  • A gorgeous home-away-from-home in the centre of Charlottetown!

"Our stay at The Black House (2nd floor suite) went beyond our expectations. We were incredibly impressed with the attention to detail - the team thought of everything we could need to make our stay comfortable (and it really looks just as pretty as it does in the pictures!). We arrived quite late at night and were pleasantly surprised to find the fridge stocked so that we wouldn't have to go out for breakfast first thing the next day - a great start to a great stay. The location is only a few minutes' walk to the main shopping/entertainment area in Charlottetown so it was nice not to have to drive there and worry about parking. The gorgeous back balcony gets a little buggy at dusk, so perhaps bring a little bug spray, but we weren't too bothered and spent loads of time there reading, eating, and playing cards. Would definitely recommend staying here, and we look forward to returning one day!"

  • Beautiful Character Home, Great Location

"My wife and our three boys (aged 4, 7 and 9) had the pleasure of staying here for a week over Canada Day. It was great to be on a nice residential street and yet walking distance (literally within a few blocks) to all of the main attractions in Charlottetown including Victoria Park where all the Canada Day festivities took place, the shops and restaurants along Queen Street (Cows Ice Cream was 2 blocks away), the harbour, the theatre were we saw the Anne of Green Gables musical, The Lieutenant Governor's House, Beaconsfield Historic House, and many other interesting and historic sites. But the best part about the house for my boys was the pool in the back yard, which they used all hours of the day. There was also a trampoline in the front yard that provided additional enjoyment for them. There was a great seating area by the pool as well where we ate meals and relaxed - we never ate our meals in the house because it was so nice outside in the back patio. The house inside was very chic, in the sense that the owners took care to blend style and functionality into a heritage home without sacrificing the character of the house and property. We had a wonderful vacation there and would definitely rent it again."

  • Wonderful Home for Our Adult Family of Ten

"My siblings and spouses couldn't have chosen a better location and we just loved this beautiful Victorian. It was spacious and accommodated us well including the ample kitchen for our many eat in dinners. Having a full bath for each bedroom really sealed the choice for us. Also the one bedroom on ground level was perfect for my sister-in-law with MS. The original fireplaces in some of the bedrooms were amazing. We even enjoyed the horse & carriage tours that went by each day. We didn't realize how close we were to Victoria Park until we arrived and found it to be a stones throw away. Took advantage of its lovely boardwalk and ice cream stand. Highly recommend taking in the Lt. Governor's mansion and Beaconsfield House both just across the street. The bedroom on the third floor is stunning but we gave it to our youngest as that many stairs take stamina. Being close enough to walk downtown was a bonus and we enjoyed some of the unique shops. This home is as good as any five star hotel and you won't be disappointed. One of the outside steps needed a repair and management sent someone right out that day to fix it. We would highly recommend renting this gorgeous home!"

  • Excellent Accommodation

"Stayed at 2 Grafton St. the third week of September. I have rented many, many accommodations through VRBO and this was one of the best! Al & Sharon have done a marvelous job remodeling this home; every room is beautifully appointed. The "extras" were all there and there was nothing we had to go out and purchase for the stay (soap/Kleenex/TP etc). It is an excellent location in Charlottetown and within walking distance of all the shops and restaurants downtown. The home was so welcoming, I could have just stayed in it for the week!! Al & Sharon are great hosts, answered many questions pre-visit and a few during the visit too. Many thanks!"
