  • We had a great time

"We are a family of five and had such a great time here in August for four nights. The home is rustic and beautiful, the outdoor is particularly great. They provide two kayaks, two floats and four life jackets. We kayak to the opposite shores, swim, pick oysters from the shores, see starfishes, pick and ear fresh blackberries. We did a family painting session competition with canvas from Dollarama. There was an eagle nest right outside....We were disappointed the hammock on the photo gallery was not there but there were more than enough things to keep us occupied. The inside of the home is cottage like, probably not as comfortable as some modern condo because the three rooms downstairs were quite cramped, there is only one bathroom/ toilet, and the antique bathtub was quite difficult to use without wetting the floor as the shower curtain is difficult to wrap around tightly. However the equipped kitchen, the fantastic view, the binoculars and various board games more than make up for it, we have great family time together. We were disappointed that the DVD player didn't work, then again, there are plenty of other things to do.... One of our best family vacation. The kayaking and oyster picking was the highlight of the trip. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us."

"From the moment we walk into the cottage and saw the view till we left a week later we felt like we had a slice of paradise here on Rollo Bay. We have rented over a dozen places from the Prague to Key West to other places on PEI from VRBO but Rollo Bay Beauty was in the top three. The Cottage was nice and on one floor, outside deck near the water was great for watching the seals swimming and bobbing around. There was a beach beside us on the right that hubby walked everyday when the tide was down to collect seashells etc. We found the people in Souris to be warm and friendly. Mike at the info center went way beyond for us to find out if the senior center played the type of bridge that we played, they did not but told Mike to send us anyway and they would help us out. They were great, it was a fun evening and perhaps helped too much since my hubby and I got 1st place. Great places to eat in town 21 Breakwater has great food, the type you would find in any 4 star restaurant. The Lobster shack had super good lobster rolls on the road into Souris from the cottage. Went to the lighthouse/gift shop in Souris. Two grocery stores there one is a coop and second another block down the street is Macphee's market (bigger selection here). The owners of the cottage have been good to work with, Allison and the property manager Pat Hayes are so quick to respond I felt that they had their computer or phone in hand 24/7. We are already talking about when to return. If you are looking for a fabulous view, good food and great people to work with look no further Rollo Bay Beauty is it. John and Maryann Iowa"

  • Beautiful chalet in a beautiful location

"This gorgeous chalet was absolutely perfect for my family of 5 (2 adults + a 7, 5, and 18 month old). The chalet is right on the river which was perfect for our 5 & 7 year old to go down to all on their own to find shells and watch the birds & boats. We were 5 minutes from the town of Alberton which had everything we needed (grocery store, liquor store, gas station) including a delicious bakery and cafe. Inside the chalet itself was every appliance and gadget we could ever hope for and lovely, comfortable furniture. We were about 15 minutes from the Mill River Fun park which was awesome for my kids age group. This might even be closer once the bridge beside the cottage is up and running again. We had to go a round about way I think. We went for a few hour drive and visited West Point lighthouse and beach, Campbellton Cove beach and Skinners Pond, all on a hunt for sea glass, which we found. All of the neighbours were very friendly. We had an all around, fabulous family vacation at the Mill River Chalet. One thing I would mention is that if you're bringing a small child that you would be concerned about on stairs just bring a pressure mounted baby gate. It will fit between the banister and the wall. The stairs are fairly steep and very enticing to a toddling adventurer."

  • Another great stay at the Beachfront!

"Last September was the third year that we rented this wonderful cottage. When we arrive it feels like coming home. In a way, it is like coming home for my husband who grew up just down the road and who still has family living quite close by. We have some great get-togethers and we love when they stop in at the cottage. Even though our last visit was in the second week of September, we had good weather, some wind but some sunsets that were breathtaking. Each morning we could hear the lobster boats pass by and look to see their lights as they sailed up the Northumberland Strait. We never tire of the view of the beach and love to go for walks on it! While on the Island we were able to take part in the Fall Flavours Festival for the first time and really enjoyed the Lobster Party on the Beach at West Point which is not far away. We were very impressed with the food, celebrity chef and ambience. Down the road is a church which hosts weekly ceileidhs, featuring amazing musical acts. You just have to be there early to get a seat! It is always great to see the couple who take such pride in keeping the lawns and flowerbeds looking beautiful and and always a pleasure to chat with Elwood who stops by to ensure that we are enjoying our stay. We love the changes in the kitchen and all the new appliances which added to the level of comfort that we had. It is a fun, relaxing week that seems to go by too quickly but we look forward to our next stay at this special cottage!"
