  • Great place to rent for International Montreal Jazz Fest!

"A girlfriend of mine and I rented this property for the week of Jazz Fest. The location was absolutely perfect! Within a couple of blocks of the Jazz Fest making it very easy to return to the flat if we forgot anything or just wanted to rest for a bit before enjoying more music. The unit is very spacious, comfortable and quite secure (code or key required to enter through each entryway). Our primary complaint about the unit is it is NOT air conditioned. When we arrived, the unit was completely closed up and it was very hot and stuffy (the unit is on the top floor, heat rises and it gets the roof heat). All of the windows and patio door open up but there is no screen in the patio door - we had to open up everything to cool the place down and then keep it cool so that meant we were dealing with flies/bugs through the door. There were 2 fans already in the unit so we hooked them up immediately. When we called FlatBook (property manager), they sent over 3 more fans the next day. Luckily, the outside temperature took a turn toward the cooler side after a couple of days and then the unit was quite comfortable. I do not recommend renting this property during the time of year when the outside temperatures are high."

  • Perfect fit for our group!

"First off, a bit of clarification. I got confused that all the reviews had referenced Ibrahim while I was speaking to Yayeva. Turns out, Yayeva is Ibrahim's wife and they manage this property together. I mostly spoke with Ibrahim and worked with him on the arrangements. In terms of booking it was a bit confusing because I was calling/texting/emailing from Boston to Montreal so some wires got crossed. But Ibrahim was fast, very calm and professional. For those of you worried about it, Ibrahim is both fluent in English and French. :) Even though we were much later than our expected time of check in (we thought we'd get there by 9PM turns out we got in at 11PM due to traffic and accidents. Ibrahim kept in touch with us throughout and was super flexible and understanding of these delays and changes in plan. The place itself was perfect!! The neighborhood was safe, bright and cheery. Even though it was a bit humid, the amazing took care of it pretty quickly. There's even chrome cast for us to watch stupid YouTube clips and movies :D All the rooms were clean, well furnished and a giant stack of towels as well as bath mats were provided. There two full bathrooms (one on the first floor and the second in the basement area). The basement one didn't have a lock so we just stuck some of the guys in our party to use that one. All the amenities worked beautifully without a hitch. There is a full kitchen with all the utensils and glassware you might need. Finally although Verdun was a bit far from downtown, we took the car and found parking without much difficulty (which is miraculous). Otherwise transit takes obviously much longer. Payment was simple. $200 deposit to book the place via PayPal and then rent depends on how many people and when you're staying. We ended up paying $700 Canadian ($500 US) for 8 people for 2 days and 2 nights. This was a perfect place for our needs! We are so grateful for Ibrahim and Yayeva for making this an unforgettable vacation! Thank you so much!!"

  • Came back a second time, it was just as perfect!

"It was my second time staying at Thomas' wonderful apartment and I simply loved it. Montreal is beautiful during the month of November. I could see the mountain from the window, changing colours. I discovered a few new restaurants in the area. I even got the chance to walk to Leonard Cohen's house where people were gathered to celebrate his life, since I was here the weekend he passed away. What a great Montreal experience! Thomas is always really helpful and he keeps his place tidy and well maintained."

  • Great large house for small or large groups in an awesome nighborhood!!!

"We travelled to Montreal with a total of four families (17 people) and had the whole house to ourselves. I can't say enough about Jean and his hospitality. His communication was prompt and friendly and he met us all at the house upon our arrival to show us around and answer any question we had. The house was clean and had every amenity we could need. The back porch was great for unwinding at the end of the day. We absolutely loved the neighborhood as it was away from the touristy areas and really reflected the local flavor. The kids were able to find a few parks near by where they ended up making friends with the neighborhood kids and playing basketball with them on more than one occasion. I could go on and on by suffice it to say that you'll be more than happy with this property and the support Jean offered."
