  • A room with a view

"Actually several rooms - each with Southern views over Lac St. Joseph from the three levels of this beautifully located, lake-side house in the pleasant village of St. Adolphe d'Howard. The tasteful furnishings and appliances are all of higher quality than in many rental properties and it is obvious the owners have gone to great lengths to make this a very handsome property. The eclectic inventory of books and CDs and the toys and games for children provide plenty of diversions for all during times spent indoors. We spent two enjoyable weeks at the end of July 2016 and the children had a great time fishing off the dock and playing on the lawn while the adults were able to chill-out on the decks. Having Ste. Agathe conveniently nearby gave us several shopping options. The owners were very easy to deal with and were most helpful in trying to make our stay as comfortable as possible while the caretaker was very friendly and always available. A repeat visit is definitely in the cards."

  • Terrific apartment in the heart of the Plateau

"Marie is a superb host, and she has thought of everything you might need for your stay, including giving lots of advice on places to eat and things to do in the neighborhood and in Montreal. Communication was excellent, and she even helped us with parking. The flat itself is spacious, very clean, and comfortable. The location (on a courtyard with several other flats) is unique and feels European. We were two families of four traveling together, and the space was perfect for us: bedrooms for each of the couples, one bedroom for the kids. The listing description was very accurate, and I especially appreciated the video tour of the property. The linens were soft and the towels were plentiful. The pool table was well utilized by our crew! It is a charming place. This is a great neighborhood, and our time there gave us a feel for what it would be like to live in Montreal. The Mont Royal Metro stop is about 7 mins walk. The Saint-Laurent Metro stop is a bit farther, but you can also take the 55 bus to and from that stop. The 55 bus will also take you, in the other direction, to Jean-Talon Market. There are bike share racks very close by, and one member of our group rented a bike to ride over to the bagel shops in Mile End. There are parks nearby (neighborhood parks as well as Mont Royal), LOTS of restaurants, and all the basics you'd need: grocery, pharmacy, SAQ liquor and wine shop, fromagerie, boulangerie. You will definitely not have trouble finding food and drinks nearby! I highly recommend Boulangerie Les Co'Pains on Rachel for all of your carb needs. Fantastic pastry, and the best Tourtière aux viands I've ever had (don't tell my mother I said that). Vielle Europe on Saint-Laurent is great for cheese. Take the trip (about 20 mins on the bus) to get produce at Jean Talon, but there's also a good produce stand at the Mont Royal metro. If you want a stay in a unique, beautiful place in an interesting, fun neighborhood, this a very good choice."
