  • Very Clean Cabin With Spectacular Views in a Lovely Town

"We just finished a wonderful stay at the cabin and enjoyed our time tremendously. The interior of the cabin is very clean and very well cared for. It is the perfect cabin layout with an ideal combination of coziness, but enough space to not feel cluttered. If I were to ever build a cabin, I would copy this design. The kitchen was well appointed with all the dishes and utensils we needed. Plenty of towels, and the washer and dryer was a great bonus. We used the kayaks to paddle in the clear and beautiful lake. The town (Lac Mercier) was loaded with wonderful restaurants, which generally had a more quaint and better feel than those right in Mont Tremblant. The views from the top floor bedroom windows were so spectacular and picturesque. The sun rose over the mountain in the morning, and set behind us in the evening setting everything in a magical glow. A couple of things that kept this from being 5 stars for us. There is a camp in the lot behind the cabin - we could see the 10 or so semi-permanent tents as we pulled in the driveway. We could hear the campers at night and throughout the day. And when we kayaked past their main lodge on the lake - we found out why - there were probably 150 or so teenage kids dancing playing volleyball and other games and playing music. Nothing unruly, raucous or disrespectful - Just a lot of teenagers in your backyard. Nothing the owners can do about this, but it does temper the experience of a quiet mountain get-away. Then again, Tremblant is not where to go for total remoteness as there's a good bit going on. Also, renters should be aware that the kayaks are across and down the street and through the driveway of another house (not in the best condition - looks semi-abandoned) and down a steep lot through some foliage that is mildly overgrown in some parts. I think we rented with the impression that the kayaks were either on the cabin property or in a common area - rereading shows that was my mistake. Once you get there, it's a nice pier and sandy bottom lake to enter the kayaks - but getting to and fro is a bit of a journey/adventure. The owners were very good about letting us know they were there if they needed anything without interfering in our stay or privacy. I received emails with information about arrival and kayaks and bikes, etc. There is apparently a caretaker "on-site", but we never saw any signs that he was there (a positive thing for us - as we didn't need him). Great Value!"

  • Excellent Stay

"We just came back from a great stay in Montreal in this delightful spacious apartment. The location cannot be beat - close to metro and bus - so close to Blvd., St. Laurent. The apartment is spacious and very clean with all mod cons and well stocked - excellent closet space in the master bedroom also. We had a very early departure time - so I did not run the dishwasher for fear of disturbing the downstairs neighbours. The neighbourhood is quiet and very secure - and far too close to La Diperie for my waistline!!! We walked to Beautys, Schwartzs, Moishes and shows on St. Laurent for the Comedy Festival. Would definitely stay here again. I think we practically lived on the 55 bus route! Grania Sherr"
