  • Terrific apartment in the heart of the Plateau

"Marie is a superb host, and she has thought of everything you might need for your stay, including giving lots of advice on places to eat and things to do in the neighborhood and in Montreal. Communication was excellent, and she even helped us with parking. The flat itself is spacious, very clean, and comfortable. The location (on a courtyard with several other flats) is unique and feels European. We were two families of four traveling together, and the space was perfect for us: bedrooms for each of the couples, one bedroom for the kids. The listing description was very accurate, and I especially appreciated the video tour of the property. The linens were soft and the towels were plentiful. The pool table was well utilized by our crew! It is a charming place. This is a great neighborhood, and our time there gave us a feel for what it would be like to live in Montreal. The Mont Royal Metro stop is about 7 mins walk. The Saint-Laurent Metro stop is a bit farther, but you can also take the 55 bus to and from that stop. The 55 bus will also take you, in the other direction, to Jean-Talon Market. There are bike share racks very close by, and one member of our group rented a bike to ride over to the bagel shops in Mile End. There are parks nearby (neighborhood parks as well as Mont Royal), LOTS of restaurants, and all the basics you'd need: grocery, pharmacy, SAQ liquor and wine shop, fromagerie, boulangerie. You will definitely not have trouble finding food and drinks nearby! I highly recommend Boulangerie Les Co'Pains on Rachel for all of your carb needs. Fantastic pastry, and the best Tourtière aux viands I've ever had (don't tell my mother I said that). Vielle Europe on Saint-Laurent is great for cheese. Take the trip (about 20 mins on the bus) to get produce at Jean Talon, but there's also a good produce stand at the Mont Royal metro. If you want a stay in a unique, beautiful place in an interesting, fun neighborhood, this a very good choice."

  • Amazing getaway!

"My friends and I fell in love with this house/location the second we walked in the door! Without a doubt, this "big little gem" will leaving you taking pictures of the views all day! The house is fully equipped and all you have to provide if the food and laughs. Owners are awesome, very prompt and courteous, only a quick call or email away of needed. If you want a quiet stay in the Montebello area, this is for sure a must."

  • Beautiful

"We are a family of four from Denmark, and we spent four days at Le Franchar in mid-July 2016 . Our review can only be most laudatory. We found the website description to be very accurate in all respects, and we can subscribe to each word said in earlier evaluations. It is a beautiful place, a beautiful appartment, with a beautiul view. And warm, considerate and humorous hosts. The human aspect was not the least rewarding for us, first-time visitors to Canada. Other comments we left in the guest book, please see for yourselves :-) Sincerely, Niels Gottlieb and family Copenhagen"

  • Lovely appartment, great location

"We stayed at this property for four nights and found it very comfortable, spacious, clean and well appointed. As described in the information. Having been to Montreal before we were looking for a relaxing and quiet base so we could visit other parts of the city we didn't manage to see last time, it was ideal for this. It was also close to good transport links. The steps up to the flat are steep as mentioned by others so not ideal if you have mobility issues. One thing I missed was a mirror in the bedroom, had to keep dashing to the bathroom! We would definitely stay here again should we return. Perfect stay thank you."
