  • Wonderful getaway

"We love Anguilla and have been going there for over thirty years. We enjoyed our stay at Seabird more than any other accommodation on the Island, which includes all the "fancy" resorts. The villa is quite comfortable, simply but appropriately decorated for a beach house and has charming paintings and personal touches everywhere. Most importantly, everything works and the house and gardens are well-maintained. The view from the villa is stunning, overlooking a salt pond-- which never smells--the beach--a short five minute walk or one minute car ride--the ocean and St. Martin in the distance. Delphine, the property manager, is terrific. She makes everything happen before you even think about it, from ferry and taxi service, restaurant reservations, finding a chef to prepare dinner at the villa and making certain everything is running in perfect order. Even more importantly, she is a lovely woman and I am happy to have met her. ,"

  • Fantastic!

"Arriving in Anguilla is fabulous but having a wonderful place to stay that's affordable and has so many comforts of home is fantastic. The island is exclusive and full of the glitterati. Peritwinkle is a perfect place for those who want to live th high life but still want to relax and have the comforts of home. Can't wait to go back!"

  • If I could give 100 stars I would!

"I write this review back in reality, missing the dream that is Sandcastle Villa so very much. This house is everything and more. Beautifully decorated, sparkling clean (and kept this way every day!), located on as close to a private beach as you could ever hope to have, full of all the comforts of a fine resort- this is the ultimate dream getaway. The owners of the home were lovely to work with- they are prompt in responding with any details or specifics you may need, and went out of their way to ensure we were completely taken care of while we rented their home. Mercedes and Maria, the two wonderful ladies who keep the villa spotless and the guests so happy, are two of the most wonderful, hardworking, and kind people I've ever had the privileged to know. If you are considering hiring a private chef- look no further than Mercedes! She is immensely talented in the kitchen and kept us overly full and completely impressed with her fine island cooking. They made our stay even better with their impeccable service and lovely dispositions. I could go on and on, but instead I will just say this: if you are looking for a villa to rent on the island, RENT THIS ONE! If you are thinking of booking at one of Anguilla's lovely hotels or resorts (as we have done many times in the past) DON'T! RENT THIS VILLA! You will not be sorry. There's absolutely nothing else like it. We will most certainly be back just as soon as possible."

  • Between excellent and admirable

"There is much to enjoy at Serenata, and much to admire. Fist the location: above Island Harbour in a completely serene site. No other view from the terrace than trees in the garden and the native vegetation beyond that, then the ocean: no other noise than the distant rollers on the reef, the rustling palms in the (sometimes strong) wind, and the turtle doves that wake you in the morning. The neighbours to the west were never there during our month's stay, and those to the east were scrupulously quiet. You will grow to admire the layout of Serenata, the well-kept colourful garden that Wilson keeps watered. I particularly recommend a good look at the dry stone wall that encloses it, artfully done in the local manner of two-tone stones . One of the best in the island. The inside is quite spare, almost ascetic in its immaculate white, built to catch and keep the light. The floor of the great room is white tile, and some original art (not too much; you will long remember the depiction of a children's model sailboat race by Wemes that greets you on the left-hand wall; see if you can find the original of the houses that she grouped above the children) takes advantage of those white walls. The living room furniture is rattan, comfortable and complete, down to the stand alone glass top dining table. One small table and a desk, three armchairs: no other furniture. Complete, but nothing superfluous. Then there is the gallery/verandah. 60 feet of arches open to the North and to the inspection of birds in search of your breakfast crumbs (feeding them is probably a mistake, and expose all that lovely white paint to regrettable accidents). The floor is the same tile as the inside: extreme caution after rain: it becomes very slippery, and running toddlers risk serious injury. But you will not find a more serene spot than one of the four lounge chairs. The property's maintenance is excellent. There is not one flaw in the vast amount of screening necessary for the enormous amount of windows (bay windows and windows along the entire gallery). There was not a mark on any of the walls, any of the off-white counters. For places like Serenata, my wife and I are thankful. The owners (Maddeline and Rocco are a phone call away (even in the middle of the night when, left in a completely dark island by a power interruption, we had to ask where the flashlight was), and prompt to answer questions and fix problems. They were careful not to intrude,, but very helpful nonetheless."
