  • Totally Incredible

"We recently returned from two week at Moonraker villa in Anquilla. Prior to booking we researched in detail paying particular attention to review websites. We had a reasonable budget and had only decided on the destination. The website picture looked impressive. However on arrival the Villa is considerable more impressive, externally it is imposing very well maintained with the garden well cut and manicured. On entry the main living space in the Villa is vast, with an open plan lounge leading into a very, very well equipped kitchen. The kitchen has every conceivable modern device to satisfy even the most expert of Chef. The lounge is comfortable yet grand, both the Kitchen and lounge leads out onto the outside area. The outside space in incredible, its extremely well designed and functional. The pool is vast and has everything from sunken bar stool to partially submerged loungers. Next to a pool is a very large Jacuzzi. There a very good external eating area which is shaded. The views from the Villa are probably the best in Anguilla with St Martin clearly visible. The Suites are all large and very comfortable with oversized bathroom and the best of finishes. There is also a gym, cinema room (with hundreds of DVDs) and an office. During our stay we were looked after by Georgia the housekeeper and also enlisted the services of Tyrone the chef, both where accommodating and extremely friendly, particularly to our young children. In summary I cannot imagine in staying in a more complete villa, its not just the quality of everything or the expanses of space but the attention to detail in the Villa. From the equipment in the kitchen to the considered books . As a family it was the most amazing holiday we have ever had and found ourselves reluctant to leave the Villa and keen to return. I struggle normally to relax , however I found myself barefoot and with a book in my hand in a day or so. Moonraker is quite simply perfect."

  • Between excellent and admirable

"There is much to enjoy at Serenata, and much to admire. Fist the location: above Island Harbour in a completely serene site. No other view from the terrace than trees in the garden and the native vegetation beyond that, then the ocean: no other noise than the distant rollers on the reef, the rustling palms in the (sometimes strong) wind, and the turtle doves that wake you in the morning. The neighbours to the west were never there during our month's stay, and those to the east were scrupulously quiet. You will grow to admire the layout of Serenata, the well-kept colourful garden that Wilson keeps watered. I particularly recommend a good look at the dry stone wall that encloses it, artfully done in the local manner of two-tone stones . One of the best in the island. The inside is quite spare, almost ascetic in its immaculate white, built to catch and keep the light. The floor of the great room is white tile, and some original art (not too much; you will long remember the depiction of a children's model sailboat race by Wemes that greets you on the left-hand wall; see if you can find the original of the houses that she grouped above the children) takes advantage of those white walls. The living room furniture is rattan, comfortable and complete, down to the stand alone glass top dining table. One small table and a desk, three armchairs: no other furniture. Complete, but nothing superfluous. Then there is the gallery/verandah. 60 feet of arches open to the North and to the inspection of birds in search of your breakfast crumbs (feeding them is probably a mistake, and expose all that lovely white paint to regrettable accidents). The floor is the same tile as the inside: extreme caution after rain: it becomes very slippery, and running toddlers risk serious injury. But you will not find a more serene spot than one of the four lounge chairs. The property's maintenance is excellent. There is not one flaw in the vast amount of screening necessary for the enormous amount of windows (bay windows and windows along the entire gallery). There was not a mark on any of the walls, any of the off-white counters. For places like Serenata, my wife and I are thankful. The owners (Maddeline and Rocco are a phone call away (even in the middle of the night when, left in a completely dark island by a power interruption, we had to ask where the flashlight was), and prompt to answer questions and fix problems. They were careful not to intrude,, but very helpful nonetheless."

  • Amazing house with Amazing service

"We've stayed at several properties through Luxury Retreats. The staff at Le Bleu was the best we've experienced. Always had a smile on their faces which seemed genuine, and they served our socks off. We loved the house, the heated pool, the tennis court, the grass all around the property to play with the kids, and the movie room. The one thing lacking at Le Bleu is beach, there really is no beach. Although we took a 15 min taxi to a great beach a couple days during the week, so that worked out. We will book Le Bleu again in a couple years, but next trip, we will probably look for a house right on a nice beach."
