  • A great value, delightfully remote, generous rooms and a wonderful wrap-round porch w/water views!

"The listing and photos are accurate but the location map placement was incorrect at the time of our renting the house and this review. The house is easy to locate however - move the map to show both East End Village and Sile Bay then visualize a straight line between them. Then switch the view to satellite and find square red roof. The front porch faces due south with views of the north/French side of St. Martin and St. Barts in the distance. We enjoyed most our evenings star gazing with views of Mars, Venus and Jupiter as well as the Southern Cross. WiFi worked very well and the Magic Jack phone was a big help when one of our party misplaced their wallet and needed to call stateside 800 #'s to put holds on credit cards. There was also a local cell phone available that we paid a few bucks to activate - it did little but provide peace of mind. This house is huge with giant bedrooms and roomy baths. The kitchen was nicely outfitted, beds were comfortable, nice linens and we appreciated the towels. There were a few shortcoming: not every room had a closet available or much furniture. Although the house will sleep up to 10 our group of 6 would have appreciated some more seating on the porch and living room and the exterior grounds needs work; it looks like the house was just build and the builders walked off before finishing. Our group still loved the place and would happily rent it again. We met our hosts uncle Pat at a restaurant in The Valley and he escorted us to the house for a quick tour. It was our first trip to Anguilla and we all loved it, especially Nat's Palm Grove in Junks Hole/Savannah Bay. The friendliness of each person we met and the high quality of the restaurants we visited and the stunning beaches made this vacation 5 stars. Thank you Kate."

  • Totally Relax No Worries

"The house was well-stocked, and decorated with unique art. We had every convenience one needs to totally relax, including a gorgeous veranda with a fantastic view of the ocean! And his rum punch and his fish dinner is out of this world!! Location is very good, with just a short drive (1 to 5 minutes) to great restaurants, supermarkets, and the beaches at Island Harbor or Shoal Bay. Mr. Ambrose greeted my siblings and I immediately upon our arrival from St. Martin. From that moment on, Mr. Ambrose's warmth, accessibility, and hospitality for us were unparalleled! It was also nice to have such a kind locals, who know so much about the island, available for tips on restaurants and things to do. Mr. Ambrose also checked in with us every morning to ask if we needed anything. We hope to stay here every time we return to Anguilla!"

  • Real luxury. True paradise

"We were lucky enough to stay at Moonraker for a week in June. We'd seen all the pictures and were really impressed, however seeing it 'in the flesh' is much more impressive. The villa sits in a lovely, perched position over looking the sea and has a nice breeze all day which keeps you feeling fresh. Once inside, the wow factor is full-on but not ostentatious. Decor is really classy and the whole villa has a quality, luxurious feel and ambiance. The kitchen is huge and fully stocked with everything you could possibly need. We went from room to room as soon as we arrived going wow, Wow, WOW! We were met by the lovely Georgia who made us very welcome, showed us around and then discreetly kept the place beautifully clean all week. We also had the pleasure of Chef Tyrone for 2 of the evenings who took over the kitchen and prepared us some fantastic dinner, all delightfully served on the poolside by one of his waitresses. Would definitely recommend Tyrone for any future visitors - great Chef and really nice guy. Also - you absolutely MUST have his Crayfish... The swimming pool was where we spent most of our time. The pool is excellent and caters for everything and everyone, whether you want to splash about in the shallow end (and even under the shade of one of the canopies); or sunbathe on one of the submersed loungers; or exercise in the (big) deep end : or relax on one of the submersed pool bar stools. We had such a good time in and around the pool and also spent some evenings relaxing in the fantastic jacuzzi which is right next to the pool. Our suite was the Savannah on the main floor. This was very nicely appointed with its own lounge area which we watched TV in a couple of nights. The bed was SO comfy and the bathroom was amazing. Unlike one of the previous reviewers, we didn't have any problems with the water pressure from the massive rain shower - it was perfect. If you need more stuff to do, the cinema room is worth a visit, with loads of DVDs. Also has the gym next door which we didn't try! Internet was fine during our visit. We had the best time at Moonraker and are really grateful for Paul and Linda for organising it all so well. Would 100% recommend and hope to visit again one day."
