  • Lovely Modern Apartment

"Spent a very comfortable 9 days (8 nights) in Apartment 2 of Hamilton House. The apartment is very clean, spacious and nicely furnished with aircon and ceiling fans in the living space and bedrooms. The master bedroom has two wardrobes both with a good supply of hangers and one which houses a safe. It also has an en suite bathroom with shower over the bath, vanity sink unit and mirrored cupboard over the sink. The kitchen in the apartment is fully equipped with all the cooking utensils you would need to make meals, if you so wished. It also has a dishwasher, washing machine, cooker, fridge freezer and microwave. The living area has plenty of seating, with flat screen TV and CD player at one end and table and chairs at the Kitchen/dining end. There is wifi in the property but this can be very intermittent at times. The apartment has a large veranda which is accessed from the master bedroom or the living room, with 2 sun loungers, table and chairs and charcoal bbq. This overlooks the grounds of Hamilton Estate but the sea can be seen in the distance. The Jolly Harbour complex is about a 10-15 minute walk but it is more comfortable to travel by car. The road doesn’t provide much space to walk and it can be quite dark walking along the road at night. There are several restaurants en route to Jolly Harbour, Shell’s Fish & Chips is just opposite and is located inside a red double decker bus and then there is Miracles restaurant which I’ve heard does good lobster, we only had drinks there. We did however have breakfast at Castaways Bar and Grill which is on the beach. They have different events on different evenings and on Friday night they have a bbq buffet with a band and bonfire on the beach. We also had drinks at Westpoint which overlooks the marina. They have Karaoke on Thursday evenings from 9pm. We also had some lovely wine at Akropolis, Al Porto and the Mayday restaurant. Howard is a great host. He was very prompt with his responses to my emails with my numerous questions. Our transfers to and from the airport were included and we were met promptly even though our flight was delayed. We arrived at the property at approx 11 pm and were greeted and shown how everything worked and had our questions answered. Great service, Howard and your team. I would definitely recommend this property, Our party consisted of 3 adults and we stayed August 2016."

  • Geräumiges Apartment in Strandnähe

  • Brilliant location, nice spacious villa

"The Villa is lovely with a nice outlook over the bay and direct beach access at the back of the villa, which is hardly used by other people. Long sandy beach across the road which again you can find plenty of quiet areas away from crowds. Villa inside is large an spacious and was an ideal location and setting for our small wedding. Thanks"

  • Delightful time!

"Well, my friend Michael B in the previous review got it right for a change. I agree with all the raves in the other reviews, so I'll add some extra stull. We are a group of 7, two couples and three singles who are approaching senior citizenship. There was plenty of space for us. We do most of our own cooking and bring our own meat with us. The grill was good and we cooked a turkey and prime rib in addition to hot dogs. For me, the best part was dealing with Roger the owner. We have rented many houses in the Caribbean and I can say that he was THE best I have worked with. Prompt and honest replies to any of my concerns. The rest of the staff was super; very kind and helpful although there weren't any problems to deal with. Iris of Sunny car rental was a bit more "relaxed" in her replies. (Island time?) Don't worry, she is capable and helpful, and the van was what we wanted. The house is in a convenient location, quiet, close to supermarket, and a glob of beaches on the Caribbean side with quiet waters, beach bars and lounges for $5 First time in Antigua, we did a fair bit of exploration in 2 weeks. English harbor and Shirley Heights. On Sun, steel drum band and barbeque. Betty's Hope plantation, Long Bay and Devil's Bridge. It takes a lot to impress some in our group but Devil's Bridge story left us a bit speechless. Enjoyed a sail on Jabberwocky. For us, much better than a catamaran with 50 others and loud music. We went wild at the Sheer Rocks restaurant, very upscale but worth the experience. Enjoyed lunch at Ana's, medium upscale on beach north of St John's. And, of course, fish and chips at the joint down the hill. All in all, delightful house on a delightful island"
