  • Perfect Villa For a Family Getaway!

"Our family had an excellent stay at Calabash at the Palms! There were 8 of us (6 adults and two children ages 6 yrs & 17 months old). The description is accurate as are the pictures, but it is more beautiful in person. The view is amazing and it is quiet and peaceful. The kitchen is well appointed, we had breakfast every morning and a combination of lunch and dinner at the villa or out at restaurants. There is a BBQ grill available also if you want to grill out. Jenny was wonderful and helpful, and suggested great places to see and dine and Howard is very attentive with anything you need regarding booking etc. Both are very helpful with any questions or concerns you may have while in Antigua. The property is very clean and very well maintained. The pool is delightful or you can take a quick walk/drive down to Darkwood beach which is wonderful. It's very easy to feel at home and not want to leave. There are some great places to eat close by such as Miracles and Dennis', and there is a grocery store nearby with pretty much everything you need. You'll need to get bottled water I will add that you definitely need some mosquito/bug repellent for you stay as they can be pretty pesky when the sun starts to set. Renting this villa and a car is the best way to TRULY experience Antigua. You give yourself the opportunity to do and see things you normally will not if you stay at a resort and get access to more local places such as restaurants, and shops. You can buy local things roadside such as roast corn, ginipps, sweet apples and other wonderful things! Our experience was so great and we are referring all of our friends who want to visit Antigua to Howard."

  • Great resort and apartment

"The apartment was spacious and beautiful with a great location within the resort. The pool is right there just below the wraparound balcony, and the beach is just a short walk away. The resort is beautiful, and the availability of the kids club where they give sailing lessons to the kids was extremely helpful. We took the short boat ride to Green Island for a couple of hours of great snorkeling. We took care of most of our own food with one trip to the Epicurean supermarket about 35 minutes away. Not much else within 20 minutes of the resort but worked out fine. You can get anywhere with a rental car, and some great island tours/activities pick you up from the resort. Do not hesitate."

  • Perfect getaway!

"I recently had the pleasure of staying in this home and would absolutely recommend this for your next getaway. The house was very clean and everything was in order. There were a few questions I had about the wifi, but the owner was readily available and the issue was resolved quickly. The home is very spacious with plenty of room to relax, especially on the wraparound front porch with the most amazing views. Each morning began with breakfast on the porch planning out our day at the beach and then ended with cocktails watching the sun set. There is no air-conditioning, but totally not necessary as the trade winds and the ceiling fans were more than enough to keep it cool. Beds were comfortable, kitchen was fully stocked and the housekeeper made it really seem like a vacation as well. We rented a car for the week and were able to get out and see the island, a catamaran sailing trip, a few of Antigua's gorgeous beaches and Shirley Heights for a Sunday sunset party, but the favorite spot was right down the road at what seemed like our own beach. We ate a Mama Pastas where the food was excellent, but Cecil's Pina Coladas were outstanding!( just make sure you ask the hours because they change from day to day!) We were very sad to leave, but are already thinking of when to go back!"
