  • Fantastic way to bring in 2017

"We took our family of 8 to Villa Tatutina the day after Christmas for one of the most fun weeks we have spent anywhere. The Villa is amazingly beautiful both inside and out. Nothing is left out. The landscaping is absolutely top notch and the layout and interior spaces are beautiful and immaculate. We took our boat and the dock was first rate as well. Marsh Harbour provides a great view of life in the Bahamas without a feeling of over commercialization. The owner was there, but totally unobtrusive. In fact we had to encourage her to spend time with us. She provided terrific insights into the island and surrounding areas for us to explore and enjoy. We can't wait to go back!"

  • Perfect

"Paul and I are business owners who prefer not to vacation like "tourists". We prefer to do as "the locals do" and find gems around the world. Whether we are looking for new dining experiences, the best breakfast place, or a new adventure, we rather escape the long lines of tourists destinations and find the real places of significance often overlooked by tourists magazines and agencies. In this case, Martin's place by the ocean is a cottage gem. Located on Marsh Island, it is a home away from home with all the conveniences. The bedroom faces the ocean, the views are exceptional, and the quaint little chalet style home affords you the comforts of being away with all the conveniences of home. Internet access included. Here are the things I loved. I loved the fishing rods were curtain hangers. I loved I could feel the sand at my toes, and the beach was so private I felt like it was all mine, which it was. I loved the smell of the outdoor fires on the beach. Loved the privacy. Loved the neighbors who were mostly Canadian and welcomed us within 30 minutes of our arrival. Loved they became friends. Loved they were all business owners (like us). Loved the neighbors dogs would visit us every morning and night just to check in (super well mannered and loving). It was so easy to rent a car. Martin gave us his top list of local restaurants to visit and haunts to hang in. We did most of them and I have to tell you we loved Pete's place (worth a visit). The liquor store and grocery store are near by, the island has everything you need/want. We rented a boat and went island hopping. And if you dive or hope to snorkel, definitely check out Keith's dive place (the best of the best locally). Here's what we would do better next time: If you arrive on a holiday, the locals close shop. So if you arrive on Christmas or an official holiday, make sure to work it out with Martin to have provisions in the house upon arrival (maybe he could send someone to shop for you ahead of time). It's about a $30 cab ride from the airport to the house, so I highly recommend you rent a car for your stay (we did, best thing we could do). Liquor is cheap, but remember that they have to import most foods, so be prepared for the "give and take" on these two items. Loved renting a boat and island hopping. There are also ferry's that go from island to island, and that is okay for 1 day excursion. If you seek privacy and a nest by the ocean to get away, you'll love it too."

  • PARADISE PLUS

"This place has it ALL!!!! I would definitely go back again... in a heartbeat... It is located in an exclusive private area. In walking or biking distance there are fun bars, restaurants & cute shops.. There is a beautiful deck, you can sit back, relax & enjoy the sound of the waves. You can watch the enchanting sunrise while having your coffee and enjoy the sunset sipping your glass of wine,. The suite is spacious and well appointed, extremely clean and updated. The bed was very comfortable. The owners thought of everything. The property also has a private sandy beach with clear blue warm water to wade in, snorkel and swim. You can even rent a boat and explore the area further. There are many fun beach bars with music, dancing and happy easy going people. The owner is conscientious and pays attention to the details. We looked at some other rentals while we were there, this one was still our favorite. You will not be disappointed."
