  • Can't Wait To Go Back!

"If you are planning to go to Great Guana Cay, Flips Flops is the place to stay! From the ferry dock on arrival to the ferry dock when leaving, the Flip Flops service was excellent! The staff was so helpful and friendly, it was like visiting old friends! Beachcomber is the perfect place to stay. It was beautifully appointed with a fully equipped kitchen, comfy beds with lovely linens and as much air conditioning as you could possibly need! The deck right outside my bedroom door was perfect for a morning cup of coffee to watch the sunrise or an afternoon cocktail to watch the sun set! The property is very private and beautifully maintained with manicured lawns, flowers and coconut trees. The sound of the surf and the breeze through the coconut trees was so peaceful...made the hammock right outside, the place to be in the afternoon! Just up the walkway is a private, shady pavilion with magnificent views of miles of sandy beaches and the ocean is only footsteps away. The pavilion is marvellous for midmorning mimosas...just sayin'... About a five minute walk down the beach, is the famous Nippers restaurant and bar. That's the place for a Sunday afternoon party or anytime for great food and potent drinks! A visit to Nippers is a must on Guana Cay! Really, Flip Flops is the best of all worlds; peace and quiet when you like or meeting new friends just moments away. We rented a golf cart to get to the food store and restaurants but spent the majority of our time simply sitting in the ocean just down the steps from the pavilion or on our own private deck. I cannot recommend Flip Flops enough! It's secluded and private yet right in the middle of everything. I truly can't wait to go back! Oh! And be sure to visit Gone Conchin', which is owned by Flip Flops' property manager Becky, for gorgeous beachwear and sun dresses! It's right across from the ferry dock!"

  • Well equipped and cozy cottage

"My husband and I stayed for 5 nights. It was comfortable for the 2 of us but would be crowded with 4 adults in the living area of the cottage. The 2 en-suite bedrooms were spacious. The location is ideal and it was nice to watch the action on the Sea of Abaco. The television is tiny. It would be a big plus if the tv was upgraded to a larger size. The cottage is well kept and located close to beach access and not far from the settlement."

"Perfect place for two couples. Darvin was really helpful. A little cool in January but some nice days. Be sure and get a golf cart. Pantry supplies limited to salt and pepper, buy groceries in Marsh Harbour. Highly recommend!!!!"

  • Outstanding Position on Guana Cay

"We had a very relaxing stay at Dolphin Lookout. The property is exactly as described in the many reviews we read before booking - it has an outstanding location at the Southern tip of Guana Cay, looking over to Scotland Cay, with fabulous views from the deck. The property itself is small, more like a studio apartment, but as spacious as a nice hotel suite. And there is plenty of space on the deck to just sit/lie down and chill. We tended to eat out at lunch time and relax at Dolphin Lookout in the evenings, and take a night cap sitting under a palm tree and marvel at the night sky (tip: use starwalker app or similar on ipad to see what all those constellations are). Our strategy of staying home paid off on new year's eve, when the beach on Scotland Cay hosted an elaborate 20-minute firework display at 9pm. They must be a family friendly lot on that private island to have the fireworks so early, and we were certainly grateful for what felt like a show put on just for us at Dolphin Lookout! We enjoyed leaving the blinds open and waking up to glorious dawn skies. Our pilates teacher would have been proud of us as every day we strolled down to the boat dock and did our "boat dock" pilates session - always on the look out for Bob the Barracuda, who often turned up as we arrived. The restaurants are not outstanding, nor should they be when you consider the constraints of island life, but we were not disappointed. We particularly enjoyed eating at Orchid Bay. I would say they had the best and friendliest service and the verandah is lovely to sit on and watch all the boating activity as you dine. The wifi worked very well, and we put it to good use, not for browsing, but for listening to Spotify using the aux cable connected to the mini hi-fi system. We also had a few movie nights on Netflix and again used the aux cable, to deliver a nice surround-sound experience. It's certainly a good idea to buy groceries at Marsh Harbor as the local store is very limited but does have all the basics. But the best place to buy dinner is straight from the dock near the liquor store. We didn't have enough cash one day and the the local ATM was closed for business (i.e. Grabbers) - but we were able to buy some nice large cray fish tails for $6 and three bottles of local beer! Our favourite activity was just to relax and enjoy the stunning Cay Sera beach where we hardly saw another soul. A fabulous escape."
