  • Well equipped and cozy cottage

"My husband and I stayed for 5 nights. It was comfortable for the 2 of us but would be crowded with 4 adults in the living area of the cottage. The 2 en-suite bedrooms were spacious. The location is ideal and it was nice to watch the action on the Sea of Abaco. The television is tiny. It would be a big plus if the tv was upgraded to a larger size. The cottage is well kept and located close to beach access and not far from the settlement."

  • Can't Wait To Go Back!

"If you are planning to go to Great Guana Cay, Flips Flops is the place to stay! From the ferry dock on arrival to the ferry dock when leaving, the Flip Flops service was excellent! The staff was so helpful and friendly, it was like visiting old friends! Beachcomber is the perfect place to stay. It was beautifully appointed with a fully equipped kitchen, comfy beds with lovely linens and as much air conditioning as you could possibly need! The deck right outside my bedroom door was perfect for a morning cup of coffee to watch the sunrise or an afternoon cocktail to watch the sun set! The property is very private and beautifully maintained with manicured lawns, flowers and coconut trees. The sound of the surf and the breeze through the coconut trees was so peaceful...made the hammock right outside, the place to be in the afternoon! Just up the walkway is a private, shady pavilion with magnificent views of miles of sandy beaches and the ocean is only footsteps away. The pavilion is marvellous for midmorning mimosas...just sayin'... About a five minute walk down the beach, is the famous Nippers restaurant and bar. That's the place for a Sunday afternoon party or anytime for great food and potent drinks! A visit to Nippers is a must on Guana Cay! Really, Flip Flops is the best of all worlds; peace and quiet when you like or meeting new friends just moments away. We rented a golf cart to get to the food store and restaurants but spent the majority of our time simply sitting in the ocean just down the steps from the pavilion or on our own private deck. I cannot recommend Flip Flops enough! It's secluded and private yet right in the middle of everything. I truly can't wait to go back! Oh! And be sure to visit Gone Conchin', which is owned by Flip Flops' property manager Becky, for gorgeous beachwear and sun dresses! It's right across from the ferry dock!"

  • Halcyon House Highlight of Trip

"Our family traveled to Halcyon House for one week The owners were great to work with, very informative, and recommended everything from taxi driver (ask for Jeff) to boat rental company (we used Rainbow)to places to see and dine. Halcyon is located convenient to a long public dock on the south west ide of Lubbers. The large wrap around decks offer plenty of space with stunning views of the Abacos facing west so Sunsets are a must. We grilled with the most beautful sunset over the water. There are two outdoor showers, one offering privacy. The home has a wonderful open floor plan and the windows maximize the western view. The kitchen was well equipped. Spices and utensils. Fridge with ice maker. Disposall. Two well appointed bedrooms upstairs with one and 1/2 baths. One bedroom down with full bath. TV with surround sound and many DVDs. Linens were good. The house is beautiful and come home for the sunsets, but there is so much to do here. Renting a boat is a must. Our family enjoyed: Dining at Abacos Inn. We went so many times that we left a big stack of cups at the house. It has a beautiful view of both the Abacos Sea and the Atlantic. The grouper fingers are to die for.abacoinn.com/ Snorkeling at Pelican Cay Land and Marine Park.bnt.bs/_m1731/The-National-Parks-of-The-Bahamas/Pelican-Cays-Land-and-Sea-Park. If you go here watch the tides. Try and go at a slack tide if possible. And while you are that far south, be sure to visit Little Harbor and Pete's Pub. The mango grouper was great. We snorkeled at Mermaid Reef near to Marsh Harbor, on the Lubbers barge and also up the north end of Guana Cay. We ate at Cracker P's and Lubbers Landing (Island Burger). We also went to harbor side in Hope Town for good food. Tilloo Pond-to see turtles but these turtles are very skittish. To navigate around, we suggest this app that helps your follow the channels without cell service (GPS) islandcompassbahamas.
