  • Comfortable accommdations

"Runaway Hill was as pictured and described in the listing. Only exception, the hot tub was found to be not functioning. After speaking with management, we were informed it would be replaced in Dec. Abaco Vacation Planner was easy to book thru and was easy to communicate with via email or telephone with any questions or concerns before and during our stay. Runaway Hill offers basic, comfortable accommdations. I would rate the home itself as 3 1/2 stars and give the home location another 1/2 star for a total of 4 stars. breathtaking! Unobstructed ocean views from every window! The house sits perched on a small hill. There are concrete stairs and a path leading down to the beach. From the deck to the beach is probably 50 ft. We had the beach to ourselves the entire time. It is about the length of a football field. It does have some rocks and lots of shells if this is of interest. The water was virtually still as it sits in a protected cove and at low tide you could walk 100-200 ft out and still only be at knee level! The home is conveniently located within a 5 min. Walk to the ferry dock.Take advantage of the ferry to visit such places as Hopetown, to see the candy striped lighthouse. For kids, there is a nice playground and a cool tree house in a fenced area off the public dock in Hopetown. Also, enjoy Sunday pig roast at Nippers at Great Guana cay. They have two pools on site you can use and beach access. Plan on hanging out enjoying the music, food, drinks and company. Let the ferry captain know when you board if you will need a golf cart and they will radio ahead to have a cart company meet you at the dock. We arranged to rent a boat from blu wave boat rentals. However, the sea was to rough for comfort for the small vessel and we chose not to use the boat the rest of the week and relied. Upon the ferries. Keep ocean conditions and time of year in mind if thinking about renting. Blu wave was very accommodating however, the standard is the boat companies do not offer refunds for weather. We traveled with 4 adults and 3 kids (5,3,1). The 2 king size beds were nice for adult couples however the mattresses and linens could use updating. The sleeper sofa was sufficient for small kids. The on suite baths are small and only have small showers, no tubs. Single vanity. The railing on the outside deck has a gap large enough for children to fall thru. See pics. Overall, the home meets basic needs but if you are looking for fancy, newer amenities this is not it."

  • Guana Cay Hideaway

"Winding up our second wonderful 8-day stay @ "Gumbo Limbo". Enjoyed experiencing the fantastic views of the Sea of Abaco from the screened-in porch and listening to the waves from the Atlantic Ocean. The cottage has everything one needs to relax, fix meals and stay in touch with the real world (if needed). The nearby beach provides solitude, great ocean colors and snorkeling opportunities. A little gem on the south end of Guana Cay!"

  • Quiet and Relaxing!!!

"Gone Bananas is a well maintained and comfortable house that met all of our needs while on vacation. It is located on Lubbers Quarters which is a small quiet island with a nice beach and one restaurant/bar named Cracker P's .Gone Bananas felt like a home and not a rental, it had everything we needed for our 10 day stay and more. The home comes with a golf cart, kayaks and a protected boat slip for your use. The home owners Patti and David live on the Island and are more than helpful if needed, their communication was excellent before our trip and they are a radio call or e-mail away while there. After the airline lost some of our fishing gear they were nice enough to pick it up later in the week when it arrived in Marsh Harbour. David offered fishing tips to us when we asked and Patti had suggestions for some must see items while we were there. The other home owners we met were great and we made some new friends while there as well. Lubbers Quarters is located close to Tahiti beach, Hope Town and the Tiloo Cut, every morning we would take the golf cart to our rental boat and spend the day fishing, snorkeling or exploring the other islands and beaches. It was our first trip to the Abacos and we are already talking about returning and Gone Bananas is at the top of our list."
