  • OUTSTANDING!

"We just returned from a fabulous week at Conched Out. Our expectations of the house were far exceeded by the house itself. The house is terrific(with lots of space), the pool was like having another room as we convened there every afternoon and evening, and the dock was great for our boats and for afternoon snorkeling! We enjoyed the evening sunsets from the pool deck. I fell in love with Elbow Cay and Abaco. Don, Wilma and Sherman were all very, very helpful to us before and during the stay! We will be back to Conched Out as soon as possible!!!"

  • We are coming back!!!

"Thank you, Joy and Mike, for letting us share a small piece of your paradise! If needed they are just an e-mail , or a phone call away, if some problem should arrive, Renting from an owner who is near by is a big plus. This was a perfect spot for us. We appreciated the large kitchen counter space, and the two bedrooms.....not to mention the fact, that you have 1 1/2 bathrooms!! A huge bonus, and it saves a lot on the wear and tear on the legs, and the carpeted stairs!! The fact that you have a patio off the ground floor, and a great view from the balcony upstairs, makes sure that you do not miss any of the unbelievable sights of the day .If you have read the other reviews, you know that everything is within a few steps away from you. All true, indeed! If you have room in your luggage, I suggest that you put in some paper products....like Glad Wrap, or aluminum foil, baggies, parchment paper, etc., as these things cost a lot at the local grocery store, and it seems you always need these supplies. We are coming back next year, and we have chosen, once again to stay at "The Treasure Trove", at Mariners Cove, Treasure Cay! You will not be disappointed if you decide to do the same!!! Happy holidays!!!"

  • Better in the Bahamas

"This was our second visit to Backroads and I would highly recommend it as a great getaway. We saw sea turtles in abundance, tiger rays, parrots and other tropical birds and fish and also a stingray at Cherokee village. A beautiful beach was a short kayak ride away, we cycled over to Petes Pub and gallery and toured the foundry which is all run on a generator. A highlight of the visit was a day trip to Hopetown by ferry where we rented bikes for 12$ for the day and explored the charming village, lighthouse and had a great lunch at the Abaco Inn. As an artist I appreciated the spectacular views in all directions and natural unspoiled beauty. As there is no light pollution the night skies are some of the best for star gazing. We are looking forward to a return visit."

  • All you could Want!

"We stayed at Ma Maize's for 4 nights in May. It was the perfect cottage - everything you would want or need: 2 porches to sit out. Front porch is great for visiting with neighbors walking by. Nice to have a TV and WI-FI. Your phones and texts may not work here, though. Marilyn is a great host. We went fishing with Rick Sawyer - he will work hard to put you on the fish. Ma Maize's is near everything in New Plymouth - walking distance to all shops and restaurants and having the golf cart available is great."
