  • An amazing house in an incredible setting.

"We're on our last day here in paradise, packing up for the voyage home. Our stay at Bonefish Bay was wonderful. We've rented many houses at numerous islands throughout the Bahamas and, without doubt, this house was the nicest that we've stayed in. It's not luxurious or fancy but it is very spacious, impeccably clean, and extremely well equipped. We really appreciated the beauty and peacefulness of the private setting. The house easily accommodated seven of us and could probably have slept an additional four people if we wanted to. The owner's customer service was simply outstanding (both leading up to and during our stay). It really made everything easy and enhanced the quality of our stay. We would love to visit Bonefish Bay again in the not too distant future."

  • Luxurious Family Vacation Spot

"We were travelling with our extended family of 2 adults 65+, 4 adults 40+ and 2 children 11 & 13. We had been in touch with Michael many times prior to our trip to arrange details. He was always attentive, prompt and very helpful. We charted a flight from Nassau airport for all eight of us to the Fresh Creek airport (12 minute flight). There are cabs at the airport and we took two of them to get to KettleStone which is a short 10 minute drive. Michael and two staff greeted us upon arrival and gave us a guided tour of the property. The property is excellent for families as two of the bedrooms are separate suites - complete with a mini kitchen with a bar fridge, coffee maker and table for two. The washrooms are enormous with double sinks and a very spacious rain shower. The finishes are exceptional. The high cedar ceilings make each room feel even bigger. There are single beds that can be put into each suite for additional sleeping. The main house kitchen and finishes are all very high end. We did cook many of our breakfasts and lunches and found everything we needed. The staff were on site daily and were extremely kind and helpful, going above and beyond to meet our needs. We ordered groceries ahead of time through Michael and our food arrived around 3 p.m. the day of our arrival. Michael touched base with us daily to ensure that we had everything we needed and that our activities for day were arranged successfully. He arranged a rental car for us as well as assisted with daily activity planning. Michael also arranged for us to have local chefs come in nightly to prepare dinners, predominantly seafood and Bahamian cuisine which was absolutely incredible. You also have the choice for other menu options. We spent endless hours in the pool, hot tub and on the dock fishing. The hand carved stone work on the deck and the new dock add so much to the uniqueness of the property. You can enter the water from the dock area and snorkel with Bruce the Baracuda (don't worry he's friendly) around the dock and shoreline where you can find starfish, conch, stingrays, etc. We had an exceptional experience at KettleStone and we never had to worry about a thing. We have travelled a lot and this place is one of our favourites. Michael and his staff take the time to talk to you about KettleStone, Andros Island and make sure your stay is comfortable and memorable. We can't wait until our next visit."

  • A Piece of Heaven!!!!!!

"My husband & I were looking for a beach vacation to "get away from it all." We were in for a delight! We stayed in BH 1 ~every window view of the ocean, we ate dinner on the porch every night & slept to the waves rolling in. I kept saying ; "You know the ads of beach vacations where the water is crystal clear, sandy pristine beach with no one around? That is where we are!" We rented bikes & rode 7 mi to Regatta Beach & Morgan's Caves ~picked fresh quenepas ~ delish. Make sure to bring lots of water where ever you go -it's sunny! Went snorkeling & saw: sting rays, octopus, turtles, lobster, many different kinds of fish & a queen trigger fish followed us around, & all the incredible corals. We rented a car for the day & drove to Red Bays to meet Aggie, the basket weaver, & Wilson Russell, the wood carver. No stores just ask someone and they'll bring you there. The baskets ranged from $12 to $40 & we bought a wood carved turtle for $40~ buy them! You will see the same baskets & wood carvings in your cottage. Next we drove south - yes the roads are quite riddled with pot holes but they are not busy at all. We went to Androsia to take a batik making class ($25)~ email ahead & they will give you a time. The owner Kaycee, gave the lesson ( practice cloth first, then choose either 1yd of fabric, a tee shirt or draw string bag)next learning how to "stamp" and "write" w/ a special wax pen. The difficult part ~you only get to choose one color. Next Kaycee takes you to tour the 4 rooms to complete the batik. We paid $13 to mail home. They have a gift shop. I bought a dress($50) & my husband got his official Bahamas shirt($40), & hair scrunchies($3), napkins($4.50 ea), skirts($20), & small bags($6). The quality of the fabric & sewing is excellent. On our way back we ate at the Brigateer. A deck reaches out into the ocean- conch fritters ~yummy. In town everyone is very friendly & helpful & it's very safe. We ate at a few of the small eateries: cheap fried foods. Many local markets to buy necessities. Bring lots of cash(we brought $1,500), aloe & shoo fly! The best for last ~ Zona. He took care of us like we were family. Zona & his wife's cooking: outta this world(ribs, fish, chicken, lobster, conch fritters) & enough for lunch the next day. Zona snorkeled with us, picked us up when we broke down, made all arrangements for car, plane trip back & everything we asked. Zona is a true blessing! We are already making plans to come back to Francine's Place with friends!"
