  • Simply the Best...

"My girlfriend and I just returned from Off the Reef. It was a glorious time! The view itself makes the price of a night worth it, even if it were twice the price. The pictures online DO NOT LIE! It's one of the most beautiful places I've ever been. Allan and Carolyn have spared no expense to make this little bundle of paradise functional and fascinating. Bring a cooler and chairs if you want to, but you'll never need them. The only things we actually needed were our sunglasses and sunscreen. (And who doesn't bring those?) Be very specific with any car rental company you deal with. The roads in Eleuthera are terrible and there is no middle line on Queens Highway (except for spots in southern Eleuthera). If you drive on the right at home, request a car with left-hand operation. It's more than a little sketchy driving on both the wrong side of the road and the wrong side of the car. Also, if you're adventurous (like us) you'll want to visit some of the other beaches that you'll undoubtedly read about. Make sure you have 4-wheel or All-Wheel Drive!!! Lighthouse Beach is a pretty place, but it's a tough road to get there and God-forbid if you get stuck in the sand or get a flat! I'd venture to say that heading down to The Market at Rock Sound and buying four days worth of groceries and dining at Tippy's and 1648 should suffice a couple for the week. Be prepared, though, groceries, food and drink are expensive on the island. Take your snorkel gear! I saw about 15 varieties of fish and a ray while just "off the reef". I only got out as far as the fourth rock formation and the sealife was amazing! If you feel the need to get some fresh conch for fritters/rangoon, I'd recommend heading down to Bannermantown past the turnoff to Lighthouse Beach. There are hundreds of tidepools with living sealife. We didn't take advantage of it, though. My gal detests killing things and I kind of agree. So, that's that! Off the Reef is the place to be on Eleuthera for a couple. Everything you need, nothing that you don't. Carolyn is great about correspondence, so messaging is almost instantaneous. We love her! Missing OTR already... Hope to be back some time soon!"

  • Exzellente Gastgeber, idyllisch gelegenes, bestens ausgestattetes Haus

  • The Most Beautiful Place on Earth!

"Aqua Vista was a dream come true! Well furnished with all of the comforts of home! Nothing compares to sitting on the expansive back porch! We spent a lovely 6 days at the house, it was surreal. This area has everything you adventures to the most exclusive beaches, local dinning, and quiet nights! The view takes your breath away EVERY DAY! The house is located just far enough from everything for that truly Utopian feel. The most relaxed I have ever been in my adult life. I am a mother of three and just graduated college; I know a bit about stress. Wonderful place to call home for a bit."

  • Just what we were looking for!

"This little place was just amazing! The location was perfection for a family who didn't know much about the island. Everything was so accessible. The cottage itself is charming, clean and gave us that beach feel we were hoping for. It had everything you needed to enjoy a stay away from home. The beach chairs and kayak were a huge hit and the outdoor patio area was private and cozy....(shared with the small adorable anole lizards). The beach out front is a worldly phenomenon...... Stretching white sand beaches and being able to walk out hundreds of feet before it even passes your knees! We enjoyed Buddas and their wonderful staff. The Shipyard Restaurant was our favorite for the view and the food quality. We saw a white tip reef shark here on our last night. Also, The state park is a must visit! Lastly, my husband had an amazing fishing adventure with Deeks Fishing tour! They caught 12 yellowfin Tuna, We had so much tune we had to give some to our neighbors! My 10 year old son and I went Snorkeling with Captain Ryan Neilly off of Devils was a little intimidating but I was impressed with all of the live coral and fish life here. Captain Ryan was very attentive and a great person to show the kids the cool features of the island. One factor to mention: The bedrooms are really one big one separated by curtains so if you have a snorer in the might want ear plugs! Our care taker Johnny was kind, attentive and made sure to arrange our travel to and from the island which was was seamless both ways. We loved our time here! We will definitely be back to this beach house!"
