  • A great destination for a large group and adventurous souls!

"A spacious home which had the perfect floor plan for a large group. The bedrooms lined up on the left hand side of the large hallway, and the living areas separated by this hallway to an open kitchen,/living area. It is not fancy(a bit shabby in a couple bedrooms), but has enough staple, decent appliances and sturdy household items to be functional--we found the ice-maker especially convenient! The bedrooms were comfortable and spacious. The living areas were furnished with a generous amount of seating, although the cushions are a bit tired--we flipped and fluffed and it worked. A newly remodeled bathroom made the 1/2 bath look shabby. Outdoor living areas was beautiful, just a few steps to the water, via steep concrete steps, and a sandy area at which we enjoyed the 2 beach chairs provided (could use a few more chairs). The caretaker was contacted in order to get the use of the chairs locked in the basement, and the 4 kayaks promised- the most fun adventure (besides the prop plane ride from Nassau) I had! There were also 2 pedal bikes, but they both had flat tires and there's nowhere to go anyway. The kitchen had a smell of mouse urine and some droppings in the cabinets & numerous wasp nests outside(one of the kids got stung)--there was only an empty bottle of wasp spray under the sink, however, and the caretaker, although helpful in informing us the telephone was broken (it was fixed on "Island time" 4 days later), and able to help us figure out the fan/light configuration and get us batteries for the empty remote-controls, was informed of the nests, did not attempt to treat them during the duration of our stay. Screened room was a great place to relax on the swinging love-seat. The island: no street signs, stores are unmarked with indiscriminate hours of operation, numerous restaurants and local watering holes where the drinks are generously strong, Island prices ($$$). we brought and cooked our own meals 90% of the time--everything but fresh fruit and veg are ok to bring through customs. 4-wheel drive down a road to a remote beach to see a wreck, &the beach was strewn with plastic debris and trash burns on a daily basis. gems: Tippy's bar, French Leave restaurant. Talk to the locals at the roadside tiki hut bars, great way to learn tips. Bug spray: no-see-ums will get you! Best bread: Island farm, a short ride south. $5 water taxi to Harbor Island, $50 golf cart/day, it's a fun adventure. visit the blue holes, and lighthouse beach"

  • great place

"had a wonderful weeks stay. the owner was very thorough and made sure everything went smooth. The house is very comfortable and quaint. the best part is the lagoon behind the house, we snorkeled there every day. I highly recommend Bahama Sunset!"

  • Quiet seaside escape

"The Palms looks much as the pictures although no camera on earth adequately captures the amazing shifting blues and greens in the sea! The cottage was perfect for my daughter and myself, we are adventurous and so did not mind seclusion and privacy at the end of our days, and it WAS quiet! We snorkeled right out front (loved the ease of access from the steps and moat!) and saw great coral and fish! We also had rented a car and explored several beaches, with Tippy'''s our final favorite due to simplicity of access and great drinks that we enjoyed on the pink sand beach from the tiki huts at the bottom of the steps! We did get stuck in the sand once so beware! But friendly locals helped us right out of that jam so now it's just a great adventure story! The Palms is a great central location for checking out the island, and accessing groceries, liquor, banks and gas with just a little drive time. We appreciated the wifi at day's end and the ac and ceiling fans too as (big surprise) it's quite HOT in Eleuthera in late June! Thanks to Tim for the rental and to Sue for the car and her lovely hospitality! Do not miss Island Farms for the pineapple salsa and smoked fish...also a good Bloody Mary mix!"

  • True Paradise

"Myself, Husband and another couple stayed at the beautiful property of Tequila Sunset and we were very pleased with our accommodations. Rena (owner) & Wallace (Property Manager) were very attentive and very nice to do business with. The only negative was that the AC in the main den area did not work, it was a little warm throughout the house but not miserable. WE were outside most of the time anyways or off exploring the beautiful island of Eleuthera. WE kept our bedroom doors closed at all times to keep the cool air in our rooms and it worked perfect. Also- the WiFi is spotty on service. Sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't. But we were in a remote area so its understandable. I was still able to FaceTime back home with my daughter on occasion and it served its purpose. But don't plan on doing any computer work if you are staying there. The people there are so friendly and everyone knows everyone! We felt very safe at all times. My favorite location was Ocean Tally. Absolutely beautiful bar/restaurant just right of the glass bridge heading North from where we stayed. The views are breathtaking and the owner of the establishment, Annette was very hospitable. I have never used VRBO before, but it was a great and easy experience. The property was everything I had hoped and more. You just can't beat the Caribbean in your backyard and those sunsets are to die for. We will definitely be back to stay at this property again in the future."
