  • Perfection!

"Our week at Palmetto Sunrise was absolute perfection. The villa is exactly as it appeared in the photos . It was beautiful, comfortable and perfectly located for exploring the island. We can't wait to go back! We fell in love with Eleuthera and Palmetto Sunrise."

  • Our amazing time at 5 Palms Eleuthra

"We have been fortunate as a family of 15+, to have stayed with VRBO in Australia, Arizona, Hawaii and Eleuthra. 5 Palms was the outstanding winner, with every amenity one could ask for and more. The accommodations are 5 star as well as the staff. The owners are extremely helpful when planning and the trip was done problem free , even with 17 of us from 3 months to 95 years. Although the food selection in the local food stores is about 20% higher in general, the selection is fine for most tastes, as well as the liquor selection. Enjoy!!!!"

  • Sea Shell is a Jewel in the Crown

"We've now stayed at 4 places in Eleuthera, and looked at 5 or 6 more in person, and Sea Shell is one of our favorites. We weren't sure what Windermere Island would be like,--afraid it might feel cut off from Eleuthera proper, but that wasn't our experience at all. Yes, it was private, and we rarely saw other people on the beach, unlike at Twin Coves, for example, where we saw Spring Breakers as well as families and multiple couples. But it made going to Rock Sound (for the airport, groceries or the blue hole) & Tarpum Bay (for fresh fish) very easy. We especially loved the view from the decks and the living room. At night when we turned on the outside lights it was such a surprise to see the palm trees lit up. Dramatically beautiful! And...that beach! I loved walking the short but beautiful path to the beach. It was so alluring we didn't go many other places. The tides varied widely, so at low tide the beach was extremely wide. We had many excellent beach days, always with wind to keep the bugs away. A few days the wind was a bit much, but that meant sunning by the protected pool or going exploring. We went to Lighthouse Beach one day, and that was staggeringly beautiful. Not fair to compare Lighthouse Beach to anything else, but it is a commitment. Sea Shell's beach is a magnificent second. The house feels classic. First of all, it's clear that Sea Shell is lived in by real people. Things make sense, and it's not a generic rental with minimal attention to detail. The single-story design makes getting around very easy. Every room feels nearby but the bedroom layout affords lots of privacy. The master bedroom was extremely comfortable. Two of the bedrooms are accessed only from the outside, making them removed enough from the others for quiet, but not remote. We cooked up a storm in the kitchen, which, while not new, was well appointed with everything we needed. (This has not been the case everywhere!) There are at least 3 outside patio areas facing the Atlantic, plus the pool area, so it's easy to take advantage of outdoor living. Housekeeper Beryl generously waited for our arrival, later than we expected, and graciously answered any questions we had, and gave us the space we requested--we were happy to take care of ourselves. The owners were very easy to deal with--not a lot of fuss, and very straightforward and friendly. All in all, Sea Shell worked very well for us, and everyone in our group would be happy to return there!"

  • Super Clean, Comfortable and Delightful Owner

"Came to this property with friends, (2 couples in our mid fifties to early 60s). This home was immaculate and the owner couldn't have been a better ambassador for the island. She met us at the property and made sure we knew about all the properties wonderful features. The home has a deck with a nice big grill, which we used for dinner, as eating out can be expensive. The washer and dryer are a nice touch as were the beach towels, beach chairs, umbrellas and cooler that the owner provided and we used at the beach every day. We spent everyday checking out a different beach or two and found that 2 of our favorites are within 5 minutes of the house, Ten Bay and Pau Pau, both wonderful places to catch a sunset and see starfish, conch, sand dollars, small jelly fish and other "cool stuff" as the tide goes out! There is a "farmers market" a 1/4 mile from the house and you can get the most wonderful greens, vegetables, dressing, cheese, and on Tuesday and Friday, fresh baked breads and cinnamon rolls. Get there early, as the bread goes fast! It was so nice to come "home" each night after a day of exploring and have a clean shower, nice towels and sheets, a comfortable bed and even air conditioning if you needed it. The owner was such a great resource if we had any questions about places to visit, or how to get somewhere we had heard about, she hooked us up with a car rental even before we got to the island. She takes great pride in her property and the island and with good reason. What a great place to visit! What a gem of an owner!"
